Unfortunately, people like this are a monster of the school systems design. All of you either are picked on or know someone who is. But its not your average bully, its the "in croud" doing it. Its the athletes, the cheerleaders, the student government, all of those usually contribute to the building anger and isolation of such people. While i do not endorse his actions at all, i can see how someone is pushed so far. This is why i dont think school shootings to come to an end. If you go to a high school in the united states, get ready for a new wave of "Columbine Paranoia". Watch what you say, write, draw, or anything creative. Administrators will not hesitate to over react.

On the topic: If that kid actually survived, he wouldn't even face the death penatly because in Minnesota, there isn't one.

I think what needs to happen in USA is Metal Detectors in all entrances of every school, Yeah it'll cost a pretty penny but this is just outrages, pay money or lose innocent lives? And they should have a officer at school checking people who look suspicious every morning.

Something to prevent it, everyone say's this shit would never happen at my school, then it does a year later.

This is a terrible thing, but like Schutzstaffel I'm not suprised such an incident has happened again as no real measures after Columbine have been put in place to prevent such a thing happen. Now just wait for the reactions and backlash - right-wing folk blaming media influences and the lefties for making the media, while the left-wing dudes blame the right-wing guys for allowing guns to be on sale.

I saw this on this mornings news. I'm not suprised. The kid was being made fun of, he wore black, his dad died (they most likely made fun of him for that, he's a Native american, wearing black, 1000$ says other kids were joking that he was atempting to contact his dead father,). If you ask me, he should have told the freakin staff. But one of them got shot as well, which leads me to believe the staff did nothing but slap the wrists of his harrassers.

Strange, the school had a guard, obviously he didn't carry a gun. To prevent this, all you have to do is make kids know violence is not the answer, if you banned guns he'd have brought a knife to school, or maybe hit them with a truck (its happened) and we'd still have some dead people.

Metal detectors, resgistering firearms, enforcing laws that say guns have to be locked up in safes (mine are in one), or just plain enforcing law would help.

Though, somehow, I personally felt a fringe of prejudice in that report b/c besides the headline, the first paragraph only talks of his neo-Nazi deathly angel ties...which is targetted to make people believe neo-Nazis and Red Indians are nutters.
My personal observation, but anyhoo.

Michael Moore might seem like this annoying lardy journalist asking the same question again and again and making movies which somehow create a greater hype than most other hollywood flicks, but in all honesty, there is alot of drama in his movies (which is needed for a particular audience) and of course alot of propaganda, but I think despite all these facts, both his past documentaries have brought to the forefront things that people were either, a) too lazy to look into; b) didn't know or c) didn't care about (sadly, most of the people in this category were inaffected by the movies).
I don't know how many people read in detail about the Columbine incident, but to see it was a different thing. Besides I don't think he'll make two movies centred on the same issue

This is not a problem that we can trivialize by erupting into random thoughts of 'gun control' or 'yea, it's America' or even worse 'its a bleeding Nazi, lets shoot them motherfucking idiots down'. It adds to the drama, but the idea of a "Native Nazi" simply does not compute.

Yes. That's the problem I have...why do we need the freaking drama, isn't the whole incident dramatic enough? Journalism has to stop being so commercial and stop being so focused on writing with the assumption that people are passive consumers.
