I see a few people said they liked Clerks. I have never heard of this movie so I did some searching and found out that it is a black and white movie with Jay & Silent Bob.
With that being said, what makes this so special to become someones favorite?
Or is this the type of movie that I must see to believe?

It's interesting how a lot of people know Jay and Silent Bob, but aren't even familiar with the origins. I know others, who've seen like every other Kevin Smith film but draw a blank when it comes to Clerks.

Clerks is special cause it has got what appears to be a non-existent plot (but it's really there), a lot of humorous and witty dialogue, and some nice philosophies to live by. It also captures the mid-90s America perfectly, with the character personalities, clothing and soundtrack. On top of that, it has set some standards for independent film.

Sadly, that independent film movement is dead - "independent" is just a word to describe artsy, million dollar movies now.

So in short, GO SEE IT!

Personaly I'm a fan of the jay and sillent bob movies also, and I think clerks is an amazingly funny movie. I think that more people should see Clerks and some of the earlier jay and sillent bob movies before start talking about Jay and Silent Bob.

Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma and Jay and Silent Bob Stike Back are definitely all up there, along with The Boondock Saints, which would have to be my favourite.
