Suffocation - Infecting the Crypts

So pure, so classic. I can now finally listen to brutal DM without turning away after 3 songs if it's too noisy. Previously I only listened to DM bands that had consistent riffs and a steady song structure(even if it wasn't melodic), I never liked bands that had more than 50 riffs in one song up until now(all of you modern DM fans listen to this or Cryptopsy to see what I mean). Yeah... noise can make good music, bitches.

A terribly underrated Opeth track, the closer for Deliverance, so essentially te last metal song they've released thus far. Opeth have recently stated they're going back into the studio soon. It's been way too long since we've had an album by them, I can't wait...

That album was great, everyone should give it a listen, but it is pretty damned repetetive. The sheer awesomeness of the title-track and "Infidel" makes up for it though...

Funeral For A Friend - 10 Scene Points To The Winner

I've FINALLY managed to get hold of this song. If anyone has seen the DVD, it's their soundcheck song in the documentary. Fair bit heavier than most of their other songs, too. Excellent.

I like how you quoted "vocals". It really doesn't sound like a human being, nor vocal chords for that matter.The only thing I don't like about the vox is that they're completely incomprehensible(I like to understand at least half of the lyrics), but I like the deep bass-like tone that they have, and they aren't crunchy growls like 99% of all other DM bands' vocals, which makes them even more original, not only in the lyrical and composition department. In fact, they have a melodic passage with clean guitars and singing in one song that lasts for like 7 seconds then goes quickly back to their brutal shit...

Something by Buena Vista Social Club, they're airing a documentary on them on TV. Great Cuban music. Lots of instruments at once, and pretty damned melodic, I'm not a fan of any kind of Latin music but I can settle with this. If you want something you could come across in a Cuban hotel with a load of old people, listen to this.

Decrepit Birth - Concepting the Era

Just got Decrepit Birth's only album, I've heard lots of good stuff about this band and I'm liking this song so far. The recording is crunchy, and everything is just so fucking brutal! The drummer is must be speeding up his drumming with a recording device, or he seriously has adrenal glands the size of his head!
