More fun, we have no samples of the Spanish Influenza Virus that killed over 25 million (not 50 million, but some estimates put it as high as 40 million), so there is no vaccine or treatment for it should it reemerge. It's also viciously virulent. Spreads like wildfire, kills within hours of initial infection when it breaks down the lungs and drowns you in your own blood, and affected the healthy, young adults worst of all (rather than the very old or young). And, worst of all, it's still out there, only in a dormant state within the avian population.
