    Default Programmed tasks... one in particular.

    Is there a way to get Winamp/other media players to play a song at a programmed time? I know you can set timed tasks in Windows, although I think setting Winamp to run would simply open the application and nothing more(Winamp would just execute, but the song wouldn't play). In case you're wondering why I ask this, I'd like to make a little alarm clock out of my computer.
    So... is there any way to do this? Thanks for any help.

    c:\Program Files\Winamp\Winamp.exe "e:\singles\Tales of Phantasia - Be Absentminded.mp3"

    Would play that song, just use taskscheduler, if you want to use Winamp.

    Save a playlist, and get windows to run that as the program. It'll automaticly open Winamp for you, and start playing the first song on the list. I did it with my Pentium 2 when 98 fucked up. I just ran Winamp without logging in, funny as hell when people came over...

    Great, I'll try both of those methods. Thanks a lot.

    Ahhh... now that's a way to get up in the morning.

    Edit: Hmm... this app has spyware... *uninstalls*. Guess I'll use the programed task thinger.

    Hate to dig this up, but it's better than staring a new thread about the same thing:

    I set up the very same task with taskschedueler on this comp and it doesn't execute it, I checked all the task settings so I have no idea why it won't work. So does anyone know another app that can play a song or sound at a programmed time like an alarm clock? Preferably something without spyware.

    "E:\Program Files\Winamp\Winamp.exe" "Z:\Musique\Dark Moor - Silver Lake.mp3"
    Ultra quoting should work.
    Tried it, and it worked.

    Edit->
    You can also start a playlist
    ie
    "E:\Program Files\Winamp\Winamp.exe" "E:\playlist.m3u"

    Not working. I tried both of those suggestions, nothing happened. I checked my Windows service settings to see if maybe I had that service disabled or something but it I didn't see any service called "Programmed Tasks" or something. Any software alternatives?

    I think your programmed task service doesn't work. Try first to execute the task by doing WINKEY + R (Run) then entering the cmd line.
