The new, improved "Guess the Game Thread!"

I'll give the first hint then. If you look at the picture it's quite obvious, but I'll write it down just in case. It's a fighting game (surprised? ). That's enough for a start, so just guess, everyone. I'll add more information after some false answers... so just try a few names for now.

The way the "life bars" look in that pic almost hint the game to be Little Fighters (1 or 2), but I am not sure. Am I close?

Nooo, it's not Little Fighter. By "close", you mean it's also a fan-made game (correct me if I'm wrong but, if I remember correctly LF was made by one single person)? No, it has a normal developer company like every other normal game. So LF is not close. Sorry.

A few more false answers and I'll give the next hint, but pls guess a little more, I'm curious about what you guys think about the pic.

I have another guess...
After invertiing the colors, the game looks remotely familiar, but I still don't know what it might be. I am going to take another guess at this and say it is one of the games in the Golden Axe series....

BTW... I have my own game to guess at, here it goes...

No, it's not Golden Axe, but it really looks like it. Ok, I've heard some false guesses, so I'll add the second hint to make it a bit easier. This is a fighting game for Sega Saturn. If you really can't guess, after some wrong answers I'll add the final hint, which will reveal the developers of the game. It'll be easy to guess, knowing the developers, but I think it's already easy, knowing that it's for Saturn.

Hmm, we're evolving into "Guess the game Double-combo XTreme 2000"? I know that it's not THAT easy, but might it be one of the Dead or Alive games? Just guessing though, I really have no idea right now. I'm a "bit" tired.

EDIT: I really hope tha linkinkampf is the only one, and there's at least one person here who actually played Saturn. This game is, to put it simply, the best fighting game ever created for Saturn... I don't even know why I wrote Super Smash Bros. as my favourite fighting game...

Sorry GareJei, it's not in the Dead or Alive series. But just like you and the others on this thread, I'll wait until a few more guesses come by and drop a hint or two.
Also, I wish I knew what game that was, but sad to say, I never played the Sega Saturn, so only by meticullously searching the web will I even be able to come close to finding out what that game is. Good choice though. Must be either very rare or an underdog. I even just searched the wiki links for Saturn, and no clue still. Very good choice.

Actually I don't think it as a bad idea to have 2 games to guess at same time, as long as it is clearly specified on which one the guess is related. But more than 2 will surely make confusion.

What do you think on having sound-based questions? I mean instead of screenshot it would be a sound or music. Sounds can be modified too. The idea came from a hint that had MIDI music.

And for that Saturn game... blind guess, Sonic Fighters

That really was a blind guess. No, not Sonic Fighters, I didn't even played that one (did I miss something? oops ). It's a game in a fantasy-like environment, with uniqe heroes (four of them). And it has a character-evolving system that is rarely used in fighting games: collecting XP in battles and then spending points on str, dex and other attributes after the levels. Oh, and it's NOT a player vs. player fighting game like Mortal Kombat, it's more like... umm.. Double Dragon? You know, when you go with your character from the left edge of the screen to the right, and enemies just keep coming. A better example for this kind of gameplay is NinjaWarriors Again for SNES (I hope someone played THAT one).

The reason for nobody knowing the answer must be that Saturn was forgotten real quick with PSX around So I'll add the final hint soon. (but I already told new things about the game in this post)

I think it's one of those Dragonball Z fighting games.

No, not even close. It's not related to Dragonball in any way. I see nobody gets the idea, so I'll add hints that MUST help in guessing the game (and it's time for other person's pictures too)

So far we know:
- It's a fighting game
- For Sega Saturn
- Has four characters and one hidden character
- Has an XP-gathering, point spending system
- It's a "screen-scrolling" fighting game (i dunno how they call that, but you get the idea, I wrote it down earlier)

And now the new ones:
- The game was developed by Treasure , and was released in 1997 if I'm correct, another game made by Treasure (I'm not sure if it's for Saturn) was Gunstar Heroes, which's name is VERY,VERY,VERY similar to this game
- Characters: A warrior, a mage,, a cleric (she's on the pic), a ninja and a female knight in red armor. Oh, and in the game there's also a golden armored undead knight, who helps you (he's on the pic too) I won't write down their names, it would be way too easy
BTW, the game has a sequel on Gameboy Advance, by the same name. Ok, almost the same name, it has "Advance" written at the end...

Now, this should REALLY help in guessing the game. Please, that's almost all the info I can add about the game...

Edit: NO, I'm not double posting, it's just that the guess of Chaos is somewhere else...
