I like to think I'm an avid reader; mainly contemporary fiction. I have roughly 300 books in my room, I think.
Disgusted with the run-of-the-mill fantasy genre, I gave high fantasy a try and am liking it very much. George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series is a great read. It's got a plethora of characters and political intrigue. It isn't your typical "quest" fantasy series. I recommend it if you're tired of generic fantasy authors (read: Brooks, Jordan, & etc).
