    Default World of LAGcraft

I play WoW, on the Draenor server, under the character name of Avelene. I don't know if you all knew this, but the LAG is smegging AWESOME on WoW at the moment. I usually pull a decent lag out on my dial-up ATM, maybe about 500 to 900 ms. Yesterday, I had my lag up to about 53428ms. 53 seconds of LAG.

What are other peoples views on it, and, also, which servers do you play on, and what is the lag like on them?

Mine usually hovers around 200ms, which is fine for a MMO game. Im on NerZhul, one of the many overpopulated PVP servers.

Yeah. Draenor usually has about 50 or 100 people in Teldrassil at any one time. I think Blackrock is the worst one. One of my friends went on and got about an hour of lag up.

You'd think that with 350000 subscribers, paying $14 a month, Blizzard would be able to provide better service. I mean, that's nearly 5 million a MONTH of revenue, so taking into account that it'd cost 1-2 million for paychecks and server costs, there's still 3 million to use on server maintenance. 3 FREAKING MILLION! Get more servers, beef up the current ones, etc. etc.

Why Blizzard doesn't provide the service it's known for is beyond me, but jeez.

Yeah, that adds up to a lot more (17.5 million), but that isn't constant.

Sad thing is that more than 100000 players will stop playing after 2-3 months when they hit the cap level.

They're apparently looking into that ATM.

In the first week of its release, there was 125000 copies of WoW shipped out to the world. Blizzard went "Oh Shit!" and opened up another 40 servers to cope with the massive amount of players. Another 400000 copies were sold, all running on the 40+ servers they have got running. The problem is that Blizzard did all this in such a rush, that no-one could tell if there were gonna be problems. The issues such as the Deeprun Tram, and the boat from Teldrassil to Kalimdor were some issues that Blizzard didn't think were gonna happen, but did because of the massive amount of work needed by the machine.

True that the game wasn't "release worthy". Could have done with a MUCH wider beta release, such as selling the beta for about 5 dollars or something like that, so they could see if the game was going to hold up the way it should have, but such is the life of a gamer, always finding bugs and stuff...

It occurs to me that world of lagcraft as a wordplay sucks, now if you wanted something that expressed your frustration AND sounded catchy you would have used world of WHOREcraft or something simularly snazzy.

It's always the same, rather than overestimate the playerbase game companies tend to go cheap at first and expand if demand *surpases* expectations... the annoying thing is the fact that they can claim "unprecedented demand" is beyond their control... I mean come on man....
