Shadows Fall - Of One Blood

From the album of the same title. It's so good, and about the only roaring I like. SO GOOD. It's fast paced, heavy, and I can't understand the vocalist. EXCELLENT.

Heh, already got it, thanks anyway FS.

    Megadeth - Hangar 18

Damn, I've been pumping "Rust in Peace" for the past 3 days. Good lord this album is addicting. Listen to the song "Lucretia" and "Tornado of Souls" to see what I mean. I've had the album's melodies stuck in my head for weeks, lovely.

Toto, if you like SF you might like Lamb of God, but if you want some more traditional thrash(no screaming like SF) go grab some Exodus, Testament, and Overkill. Shadows Fall are a thrash band, they've just modernized the style a bit by throwing in elements of modern metal, aka metalcore(doesn't make me very happy, but oh well. That's a cool song, btw).

Of course, you can never go wrong with Megadeth's "Rust in Peace" and "Peace Sells... But Who's Buyin'?".

    Edit:

Megadeth - Rust in Peace... Polaris

Catchiest and thrashiest drumming ever. Dave Mustaine wasn't just a rythm guitarist and singer, he's an awesome lyricist and song writer. His shit never sounds repetetive or boring, and it keeps me thirsting for more. His snarl-ish singing is both funny and cool. Also very hard to imitate. It's heavy, but in a bearable way. Just listen to Megadeth, you won't regret it.

Man, you must think I'm a metal beginner. I have Megadeth's newest, about to get Peace Sells, and Rust in Peace. I love the one LoG album I have (As The Palaces Burn). I'll check out Exodus, possibly Testament, but not overkill. I try to avoid bands with crap names.

You don't think Megadeth's a crap name? And they have all of the new Megadeth remasters at that store a couple of stores up from dirt cheap for 10 bucks.

    Green Day - Homecoming

"...I play the shit out the drums, and I can play the guitar..."

9 minute pop songs are cool...

Lamb of God - 11th Hour

It's good, but very standard. Not very creative and stuff, just power chords, and riffs and junk. POWER.

    Avulsed - Ace Of Spades

Hmm, an OK cover. Still not better than Pure X, Sodom's and Elkelisets covers

Nobuo Uematsu / The Black Mages - Otherworld

Man, this version clearly owns the original. Loads heavier and has nice keyboard passages which were absent on the original. The clean female vocals are more welcome than the growls that kicked off FFX (though the vocalist's voice is too jazzy for metal). Still, it doesn't take a genius to tell how much the Mages improved with their second release.

Meh, the original was fuckloads better than The Black Mages-version IMO. I didn't like the female vocals much... too bad the newest album has no songs from VI or VII

    X-Mas Project - Jingle Bells

Great. Fans of melo death bands should check them out.

Overkill isn't a crappy name... Did you know that they're the first real thrash band? And one of the heaviest. Destruction is the first German thrash band(Germany has a well respected thrash metal scene), their first few albums are classics. Also check out Kreator. Don't worry, no German lyrics here.

Morbid Angel - God of Emptiness

Sluggish... and heavy. Morbid Angel have some really fast songs(that were the heaviest shit around back in their day) and some sluggish DM tracks. Many of their songs feel very atmospheric, which is why I like even "Gateways to Annhialation". 'Tis awesome. I'm starting to become a MA fan myself... The other song I frequently confuse this one with: "God of the Forsaken" is much faster... and better.

I even like their newest efforts, despite all the mediocre reviews.
