Geez where to start, if I had to pick a favourite I'd go for Suikoden but there are so many good RPG's across all systems to pick out a select few, check out these two places...

If you're not entirely opposed to PC RPGs, you most definitely will want to check out Planescape: Torment, which is the best RPG ever.
