Yeah, and an excellent one too.

Ceremonial Oath - Lost Name Of God

From their first EP. I can't say I like it much. Carpet is a much better release than this one...

    ballyhoo - 40oz to Freedom

These guys are a local band who I got to see last night. They have talent, and I can't really describe their music... but a lot of it is Sublime-ish. http://www.ballyhoorocks.com to check them out, http://www.ballyhoorocks.com/01freedom.mp3 for the cover there. Kind of a bummer they don't have a record deal going, they have talent live (which, even if I wasn't totally excited about their music, I couldn't deny), and hey, maybe I can spread the word and the love. I'll be checking the rest of their stuff out later.
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain
I like watchin the puddles gather rain
And all I can do is just pour some tea for two
and speak my point of view
    But its not sane..
I just want some one to say to me
Ill always be there when you wake
Ya know Id like to keep my cheeks dry today
So stay with me and Ill have it made
And I dont understand why I sleep all day
And I start to complain that theres no rain
And all I can do is read a book to stay awake
And it rips my life away but its a great escape..
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain...

    Gorillas - Clint Eastwood.
It was over played when it came out, now no one even knows what it is anymore. The reason I'm listening to it now, is because it's "Del The Funky Homosapien" (AKA Detron3030) rapping, and I like him.

Heh, Carpet was indeed much better. Much more melodic too. That "For I have Sinned" song was the cheesiest piece of DM I've ever seen. Will check out 1349 then...

Arsis - Seven Whispers Fell Silent (demo version)

Wow, the demo version of this song sounds very different, yet extremely cool! It feels totally new in a way. The riffs were changed a bit, but the drumming remains the same I think. Obviously the quality sounds different, but it's still great. One of the best metal demos out there. Even Jim's voice sounds deeper in this one, he sings the song a little differently, but you can still easily recognize it's the same song and easily make out the lyrics.

    Arsis fucking own.

    Soundgarden - Slaves & Bulldozers

Class track from Badmotorfinger. Easily one of the band's best, it's a brilliant showcase for Chris Cornell's banshee-like vocals.

    Arsis - Tainted Eyes

I'm on an Arsis rampage again. Damn, I shouldn't be listening to even slightly melodic death DM, it's my Cannibal Corpse week! This song rules, it's only available on their demo(as well as 3 others). If anyone wants it, give me your Gmail address and I can foward the demo to you. Perfectly legal, so fuck off.

Iron Maiden - 2 Minutes to Midnight

It's good. A classic, one might say. I can't really comment on the music, because I nothing of music, but I like this. Probably riffs, or something.

The melody is what you probably like. Iron Maiden had a *huge* influence on metal bands of every genre. Everything from Megadeth and Metallica to In Flames and all of those European power metal bands(especially).

Exodus - Strike of the Beast

Wow, now this is one of the greatest thrash bands ever. It's a shame that Exodus and (especially) Testament don't get as much recognition as Megadeth or Metallica, at least when people are talking about thrash and not pop rock. The riff is one of the most hype-inducing riffs I've ever heard. Trust me, it will make you want to get up and kick your speakers down and knock shit over, so get this song right fucking now. Preferably the live version since the album is a bit old and sounds low.

    Rammstein - Sehnsucht.

Great song, one of their best techno pop tracks.

Moonsorrow have a new album?! Yow, I'll be on the DC hubs in seconds.

If I'm not mistaken, two bandmembers from Satyricon has been caught by the cops for drugging down and raping a woman. I'm not sure it's Satyricon, I haven't seen anyone else discussing it yet, but out from all the information and pictures I've seen I figured it was Satyricon... shit.

Going to listen through the newest Moonsorrow in 10 minutes, woho!
