Gwar - War Party (full album)

This ain't so bad as people say it is. I like it. Anyone heard older Gwar? Supposed to be punk and not thrash metal.

Gwar, be it punk or metal, rules! I remember first hearing of them by watching Beavis and Butthead. Hehhehheh.... I have their older shit, 'tis cool.

Avulsed - Foetivorous Marriage.

Damn, what a great song. It's brutal and gory death metal that actually sounds catchy! And just take a look at Dave Rotten's lyrics:

The passion for cannibalism was their mutual like
Two twin souls that found a common way
They got married with the aim of procreating
Countless children to satisfy their needs

Severed child sawn in two
Its micro-brain for a mousse
Its extremities are like hot-wings
Its intestines are for croquettes

They had to beget a new child every six months
Time enough to get a new tasty foetus
In the meantime they had to feed themselves like normal humans
But every six months they had a gourmet foetus dinner

Unstoppable yearning
Carnivorous lust
Infanticidal instincts
Foetivorous marriage

Severed child sawn in two
Its micro-brain for a mousse
Its extremities are like hot-wings
Its intestines are for croquettes

Toasty foetus on a grill of salty crispy texture
Delicious tender meat from the ribs, tex-mex styled
There was not too much meat on such a small creature
But as always good things, if brief, twice as good

In their behaviours there couldnt be any criminal act
Since nobody would ever know she was pregnant

Unstoppable yearning
Carnivorous lust
Infanticidal instincts
Foetivorous marriage

Fuck, I can't wait for their new album!

Mullmuzzler - Stranger

Heavy atmospheric track with the added bonus of Ray LaBrie on vocals. His performace outdoes even that on Dream Theater. There's this catchy tint of blues running through the enitrety of the album. I'm not sure if I can call this artistic metal, but the band's outstanding musicianship is certainly shining. Their talent should not go unnoticed.

Cannibal Corpse - Gallery of Suicide

Woot. Starts of slow and somewhat melodic(the 'm' word shouldn't even be mentioned when talking about Cannibal Corpse, but oh well). Damn this is a cool song. I've just been watching/listening to the "Live Cannibalism" video/live album a lot, it really kicks ass. Their live preformances are amazing, they sound identical to the CDs, perhaps even better.

Although they aren't one of my favorite bands, nor do I have that many favorite CC songs, Cannibal Corpse is one band that I truly respect for their devotion and effort to pleasing their fans. They've accomplished much more than moderately-known pop artists even though they've never been aired on the radio/TV. Quite a fucking achievement, I say.

(by 'accomplish' I'm talking about record sales and how much they tour.)

Metallica - "Master of Puppets"

Pretty generic song. This is my dream song that I wanna learn to play on my guitar. =]

The solo in the middle is one of the most kick-ass things I have ever heard.

Generic? Ohnoes. That song has a large number of different riffs, it's far from generic. One of their best. Some parts of the song are very tricky and confusing to play, without mentioning Kirk's solos... Now a generic song is "Nothing Else Matters" or "Enter Sandman".

Norther - The Final Countdown

Yay! Damn, how I love this song. Everyone my age or older should remember this song from when they were little. Sure, cheesy synth melody, but it was the 80's damnit. Back then none of us had a taste in music, so we saw the fancy synth as something cool. Norther makes this song even better. Perhaps the forced vocals don't suit it so much, but oh well, it's a Norther cover! Their Megadeth-cover is much better though...

Soilwork - Stabbing the Drama

... ok. This isn't good at all. Reminds me alot of Ill Nio, to be honest. But heck, it's better than STYE...

Yann Tiersen - Monochrome.
Yes I did break the trend of super hard metal tracks you guys have been listening to. This song is so good, I went on a mad rampage to make a sig inspired by it. This sig is a departure from my norm, as you can probably tell, huh?
You can thank Skinner8 for this one.

I feared you would say that. C'mon, STYE sucked, but it was better than SW's crap. I remember once you said N*Flaymz's STYE was better than RTR, so this means that RTR is useless gobshit? Aww...

Avulsed - Immortal Rites(Morbid Angel cover)

Heh, cool cover. I love this song. Dave's gory vocals don't sound as good with blasphemous death metal, but oh well. I prefer Vader's cover of the song. Avulsed have a lot of covers so far. Go get the "Bloodcovered" MCD, Howie.

Btw Howie, since you know more metal hubs than I do, I was wondering if maybe you could sneak around and find a video for me. It's a live video called Avulsed - Sala Paraninfo, Las Palmas or something like that. It's official, mentioned at their site, but rare and limited as hell. Why do I want this? Well, it's a live Avulsed video, but most of all: it was recorded in my hometown, and a friend went to that gig! I did manage to find it on eMule, but there are barely any sources(just one dude and 5 peers trying to get it). Could you do that for me? ^^

I searched for it, but I couldn't find it. I suggest you try MoGLO to find it. I'd MoGLO it down myself, but it doesn't work properly for me...

Pesten 1349 - Dagen Biger Ag Go Bart

Hmm... german black metal. For those who didn't know, 1349 is the year "Svartedauden" came to Norway and wiped out 60% of the population. Also called "Digerdden". Dagen Biger Ago Go Bart is old norwegian for Dagen Begynner G Bort (The Day Is Fading Away), I think.

Shadow Gallery - Cliffhanger

And I thought Dream Theater ruled the progressive scene. SG in a nutshell, are Dream Theater minus all the wankery. A handful of the band members actually are audio engineers. Their official website has a few samples if anyone's interested.

1349, that's the name of another BM band too right?

I already tried MoGLO, and I tried just the word 'avulsed' filtered as a video and nothing. Guess I'll have to cross my fingers that that guy on the ed2k network still has the file, or that enough pieces have been distributed...

Cannibal Corpse - Edible Autopsy

This is one of the best works from the Chris Barnes(old vocalist) era. He's a good vocalist, I like how he sounds in Six Feet Under(a band I don't like, but a friend gave me their DVD and it had a few good songs). I really don't see what's so great about "Fishgrinder"'s voice, I don't like it too much, but hey: at least he still sounds the same live as on the albums. *cough*Anders Friden, Mikael Stanne...*cough*

I really like the riffs and lyrics, and this song is somewhat catchy too.
