That's an Icelandic friend of mine's favorite band. 'Tis great melo death, and their solos are very cool. Damn, I can't wait to improve on my guitar so I can start soloing...

Hammerfall - Riders of the Storm

Okay, okay, so there last album was cheesy as fuck. I still love it, since it was my first Hammerfall album. "Glory to the Brave" was infinitely better though... A new EP(or album) comes out soon, yay.

So many new albums by bands that I like are coming out soon: Behemoth(well, in the US soon), Hammerfall, Children of Bodom, Judas Priest, Norther, Morbid Angel, Pandemonium, Soilwork, Arsis(yay! Not done writing yet...), Ceremonial Oath, Dark Tranquility(leaked), Avulsed(must be leaked soon), ... Ah. The endless fun of the internet.

You finally got de-sensitizied to it...WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO YOU?! I myself am not de-sensitized yet, I still find it horrendous.

    Symphony X - Accolade

I've just started listening to The Odyssey, but I have been listening to the album Divine Wings of Tragedy for ages. This track seems OK from the opening few seconds...wait, as I talked it got awesome. AWESOME.

Judas Priest - The Green Manalishi

I ask only this... what, exactly, is a Manalishi?
"I start to think there really is no cure for depression, that happiness is an ongoing battle, and I wonder if it isn't one I'll have to fight for as long as I live. I wonder if it's worth it."

I listen mostly for comedic purposes.

    Oratory - Song of Lust

The guys are a cheesy bunch. I wouldn't be surprised if they go mainstream any time soon. Meh, all their songs are the fucking same.

Sentenced - Excuse My While I Kill Myself

This is from the Gothic/Heavy Metal-era of Sentenced, I prefer the earlier Melodeath-era though.

    Children of Bodom - Knuckleduster

The solo in 1:56 is awesome. I wish they had came up with more songs rather than two new songs and two covers...... not saying that the two covers were bad

    Erase The Grey - Waiting

Good song. I really like this band. Too bad they broke up after releasing only an EP. They got fucked over on their record deal. Very bad contract.

    Mayhem - Pagan Fears

Wow, they're not so bad after all. The main riff is catchy. The blastbeat in this song fails to impress me, as well as Dead's voice, but hey, it's one of the earliest black metal bands so I don't hold it against them.

Bah, fuck it. Give me Bathory or Immortal over Mayhem/Burzum anyday.

    Mayhem - Freezing Moon

The one who wrote the lyrics (I think this is Ohlin (Dead) himself, but I'm not sure.) wanted this song to make them commit suicide. He accomplished at least one suicide

That's one of the Mayhem songs that I like so far. And yeah, he was quite successful. "Excuse all the blood" was what read on his suicide note.

Soilwork - Stabbing the Drama (promo, has that annoying message in it)

Fuck! The band has completely departed from death metal. Since it's Soilwork, I'll listen to it, but it's loaded with really bad Nu metal-ish singing and boring song progression that soiled the previous "Figure Number Four" album... I like the riffs, and the melody is okay but highly reminiscent of Linkin Park(or new In Flames) but that's all I like about this... Damn, 2 great Gothenburg bands down the crapper...

Shakespear in Hell - Heir of Naples, pretty sure that is what the song is called. Very good. It is nothing what I had thought it would sound like, Isaw this band mentioned somewhere else.

Now I'm gonna listen to Dismember - Misanthropic...get back to ya on it when its done. Yep, I like it very vicious I like it a lot.

Shakespeare in Hell, you probably heard about them from Methaphetamine(whatever). Great band, he hooked me up with the albums. I too was surprised at the music they played, their name had me fooled. Very classy prog. DM, not as good as Opeth, but good nonetheless.

Dismember is of the few well-known Swedish DM bands that don't play melodic stuff.

    Slayer - Captor of Sin

Fucking legendary. Now I know where all those early death metal bands' solos come from. Just listen to fucking Deicide or Morbid Angel, the solos sound a hell of a lot like Slayer and Sodom.

Edit: Pandemonium - Caress of Sadness

A rare song, from their tape demo(available at the site). Really good, it sounds so different from melo death and doom metal. I like that. You know, when the mix of genres is so well, that you can't tell what it is. Of course, only when the music doesn't suck. This band fucking rules, and they've definately improved over time.
