we need to spend less time nit-picking and more time encouraging people to spend time here, and actively discuss things more.

I think the reason why some members are being muppets is down to boredom, in that theres little to capture the attention here anymore. I think we should have a suggestions thread in the F4A about ideas we could use to take this place forward.

I agree with what Clive (see above) said. You, regular user type people. This is where you get to place suggestions on how to improve the forums (as in, this isn't where you complain about forum bugs, or SFX archives, or request reseeds, or... You get the idea). I can't make any promises when it comes to updating the system itself, installing VB hacks and such, but I can certainly comply with most other requests.

Go on, then.

Edit: Actually, include all the VB hack requests (serious ones, that is, and please try to keep it to ones you know exist and function properly) you want. If admins refuse to add them, I promise I'll make empty ban threats. Good deal, good deal.

Yeah, make sure you look it up on vbulletin.org to make sure the Hack is compatable with Vbulletin 3.0.3 before posting though.

That sounds interesting, can it affect only the forum you want it to and leave the rest of the forums pretty much untouched? If so I second the request.

You can't exactly tell people to suddenly become more interesting, Skinner. The forums are dead for a reason: not enough good thread, leeway of spam in certain topics. I think spam should be VIGOROUSLY pursued in discussion topics meant to be serious, and no more posting when you find something funny on the news sometimes. That creates a useless, 10-post thread.

Also, de-mod some mods... Those who don't deserve it... They tend to get lazy when they acquire supreme status... De-modding would make them strive for betterness...
