    Default www.MetalArchives.com

I mentioned this in the Death Metal thread. I just wanted to make sure everyone sees it.

I can basically sum it up for you in a very short sentence...like metal? go there.

You can search for bands you like, then it shows bands the people in that band have been in or are in, and goves you links to their official web site, (if they have one) I have been finding so many bands just clicking through those.

Well now that that is out of the way, not really any other purpose for this thread besides just discussing metal.

I'll start you off....Kalmah is one of the most awesome bands, discuss...

    Its www.metal-archives.com ...sorry.

I think most people who likes the genre already knows of the site. It's great, I use it daily.

You speak my mind, fellow nordmann.

You can pretty much find any info you could possibly think of at that site. It's also good to know if a band belongs in the metal genre or not by searching for it there(nu metal, hard rock, and hardcore bands do not show up, so that means no Korn, no ACDC, and no Hatebreed, just pure metal).

And CoB is a fucking Sentenced-clone!

Seriously, Kalmah a CoB-clone? Sure, they're pretty similar in their style... but clone? That's not right at all. Make sure you kick everyone with a spiked shoe in the ass who said that.

Yea I know, it sucks pretty much when everyone calls a band a clone just because they sound similiar. Pisses me off

Don't let that bother you, if they're good(and write original songs) huge similarity should not be an issue. Death metal for example can sound very alike, but even very similar bands have their own style and differ as much as they resemble each other.

Take a look at Deicide and Morbid Angel. Highly similar, yet very different.

Sometimes lack of originality doesn't mean that the band sucks. You could say that The Black Dahlia Murder are a cheap rip-off of At the Gates, but they are quite talented. Nothing innovative at all, but still moderately good(especially their "Funeral Thirst" song).

I'm sure if you are a Pantera / Damageplan fan you have heard about this, if not, go to www.Pantera.com then go to news. It will tell you everything. Vinnie Paul was also possibly killed, two people from Damageplan were killed, but only Dimebag was released. Many believe the other was Vinnie cause he was a member of Pantera.

The scumbag who killed him was killed by a cop, so no you can't go and beat the shit out of that guy. Though I and i'm sure many others wish they could.

I too noticed that, but I thought people would've just googled it if the link didn't work.

Have you grabbed the Ceremonial Oath's CD's from me yet?

Useful too if you don't know crap about using DC.

Come soon, no one has decided to rape my connection so far, so you'll be able to get better speeds from me.

If you use emule, you can also find "Carpet" if you search for it.
