SMB2 for NES-J is just the Lost Worlds thing found on SMAll Stars for SNES, if you want to play it there

Yeah, you do. At least I did last time I tried to play famicom disk system games. Though, that was well over a year ago, so things might've changed since then.

Oh Famicom Disk System... that would need bios...

I thought he wanted to play the NES version... which does not need you to download the bios...

The game that got released in the west as SMB2 was a Japanese game called Yume Koujou Doki! Doki! Panic. They basically replaced the four main characters with Mario, Luigi, Toad & Princess. Nintendo felt that the real SMB 2 was too tough a game for the western markets, this later turned up as The Lost Levels in Super Mario Allstars. The western SMB 2 was later released in Japan as Super Mario Bros USA.

Yup, I believe that would be the game he was requesting. I've yet to play it to this day. I couldn't find the famicom disk bios back in the day, and then I had a hard time locating the game. Once everything came together, I wasn't able to get it working.
