Rap? Seriously? Man, you need to open up your eyes a bit if that's what you love most. Wow. Simply wow.
The Used - Let It Bleed
Hmm. Let's see... "You might want to sing or scream it..!"

I'll check Deicide out later
Persuader - Masquerade
Good power metal band. Also they are from Sweden
Opeth - The Drapery Falls.
I listen to this one quite a lot, got a good feel to it.(ok pain isn't good unless you're a masocist.)
My eyes are quite open, ty very much. And yes, it is one of the many things I love the most...Originally Posted by Methamphetamine

Ah yes, Apocalyptica are a bunch of extremely talented musicians. They kick ass.Originally Posted by Paul Miller

Cryptopsy - Crown of Horns
*does a demonic monsterous/dinosaur-like grunt* I do that rather well... don't you think?
What a kick-ass way to start None So Vile! This band is by far my favorite bunch of grinders. I also love Napalm Death, but this band is just incredible. I do hate the barked-instead-of-semi-understandable-growl singing, but since most people only pay attention to the instrumentals in this kind of music, it's okay. I must listen to some more grindcore...

Anton Maiden - Aces High
May the dude rest in peace... he was such a great vocalist!

edit: Grindcore, you say? Exhumed and Ghoul is the way to go. (Cryptopsy ain't grindcore..? :\)

Heard of Exhumed, still need to download their stuff. "None So Vile" is death/grind, the barked vocals and sheer speed should be a dead give-away. Haven't listened to the other albums yet. They should be more DM than anything else since the songs are longer than 1 minute.Originally Posted by Howie
Exodus - Strike of the Beast
w00000000! Makes me want to get up and trash my whole house. Good old 80's style thrash, faster than even the early Metallica and Megadeth. w00tage to the max. Few songs can get me this pumped up.
Edit: Centurian - Blasphemy(of the Holy Ghost)
Kick-ass cover of the classic Morbid Angel track(one of my favorite MA songs). Sounds much louder and clearer than the original MA song.
Chant the Blasphemy!
Mockery of the messiah.
The curse of the Holy Ghost,
Enslaver of the weak.
God of lies and greed,
God of hypocrisy,
We laugh at your bastard child
No gods shall come before me!
Blasphemy!
This band Centurian is pretty good, unfortunately the only song I have by them is this one on the Morbid Angel tribute album, can't find their albums. The kick-ass band Behemoth also have a great cover of another MA song.
Any other Morbid Angel fans here?

Slipknot - Duality
Massively overplayed on my WinAMP player. Not really overplayed on the radios and whatnot around here, though, 'cause not a lot of people 'round here like Slipknot. Which is sad, 'cause they're actually a lot better than people give 'em credit for. They just present that nu-metal pop-culture that seems so clichd.
I believe you're mistaken, Slipknot are a horribly overrated band. People go crazy over "Wait & Bleed", which is an okay song, not a fucking masterpiece. They get way too much praise on MTV and such...Originally Posted by Methamphetamine
Norther - Mirror of Madness
Woo! There's definately a difference between Norther and CoB, I just can't tell what. Oh wait, it's Alexi's solos. Fast and highly melodic, very fun, and not cheesy, just what speed/power metal should be like.
Edit: Whiplash - Thrash Til' Death
Woo... very nice. They must've been huge Metallica fans, they probably got their name from Metallica's classic song with the same title. Not only that, they have some very Kirk Hammet-ish solos and Dave Mustaine-style singing, along with the occasional Metallica-ish power chorus "Thrash til Death!".
This one is from their 1998 "Thrashback" album, which is the only one I've heard so far.
I guess thrash isn't dead at all, it's just underground like it used to be... before 1991.

At The Drive-In - Shaking Hand Inscision
It was their beginnings before people realised their awesomeness, so it's all Indie Rock produced, and Indie sounding. I still like Relationship of Command better, though.
Onestroke told me about that emo band. It's pretty damned good, only one I like from the genre.Originally Posted by Toto
Metallica - Fade to Black
Holy shit. It's hard to believe that I've listened to this song very few times, it's a fucking classic. From the album with Kirk Hammet's debut, "Ride the Lightning", whose title track is one of my favorite 'tallica songs of all time.
Fuck "Nothing Else Matters" and "The Unforgiven I/II"(although these kicked ass), this is the true Metallica ballad.
Fade to Black is my favorite Metallica song, and so far, Apocalyptica too.
ACDC - Back in Black
Not a terribly huge ACDC fan, but really, this song just wins. Classic, easily.
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain
I like watchin the puddles gather rain
And all I can do is just pour some tea for two
and speak my point of view
But its not sane..
I just want some one to say to me
Ill always be there when you wake
Ya know Id like to keep my cheeks dry today
So stay with me and Ill have it made
And I dont understand why I sleep all day
And I start to complain that theres no rain
And all I can do is read a book to stay awake
And it rips my life away but its a great escape..
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain...
Morbid Angel - God of the Forsaken
It's been a while since I listened to MA, that reminds me I should get more by them. Death Metal is growing rapidly in me...gah, I need a new HD

Morbid Angel - Blashemy(of the Holy Ghost)Originally Posted by Hao
God how I love this song! Singing along to this song is great, and the vocalist is relatively easy to understand(especially on live recordings, where he growls less). Brutal and abrasive, I really love Morbid Angel. I hope you have MA's "Altars of Madness", "Gateways to Annhialation", and "Covenant", they're essential for any death metal fan.
Also get Deicide's self-titled album, their "Serpents of the Light", "Once Upon the Cross", and "Legion" for more great blasphemous death metal. It's not all about gore.
Ignore almost every song that goes mainstream. Take a look at songs like Circle and Pulse of the Maggots. Sure, they use overdone riffs and rhythms and all that stuff, but when you take a look at some of the lyrics, they're pretty good. Again, nothing fancy -- your typical angsty stuff -- but it's just the way it's presented, in that sort of "we don't care what you think" sort of fashion.Originally Posted by Soeru
