Xbox live help please!!

Hello i currently want to join xbox live i have a free subscription but i cant seem to get my xbox connected to the internet so i cannot play...i am currently on a laptop connected to wireless internet on my desktop, the wireless works throughout my house so that isnt the problem, i was told i could connect an ethernet cable directly from the back of my laptop to my xbox but whenever i do this the connection doesnt go through, i tried plugging the ethernet directly into my router and it worked perfectly only problem is i dont want to buy 100' ethernet cable to run to my tv and i dont want to sacrifice my big screen tv game play for a tiny 8" screen, can anyone help me please any other technical questions just post! thanks

i think you have to or you have to buy a wireless adapter for the xbox.

no you can connect directly through pc http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/connect/choose.htm

i know but you have to hook it up to your computer that is directly hooked to the broadband connection not the labtop.

hmmm i dont know about that it really shouldnt matter bcuz its gettnig the same signal the desktop is

i know but i went through the same thing to with my wireless labtop. But really i would just get a long ethernet cable because you will lag like crazy the way you are trying to do it.

I think to do it wirelessly you do infact have to use the xbox wireless adapter witch is very expensive so you should just go ahead and buy the ethernet cable.

How much does that T1 cost monthly?

i have cable and im getting a t1 speed with cablenut from cablenut.com and t1 costs like $400 a month and i have cable for like $40, and yea thanks i just found that out but thanks anyway!

You need a CROSSOVER cable. Once you get one, hook the Xbox up to your PC and run the Internet Connection Sharing wizard.
