I just listened through the newest Marduk-album, and it's not bad at all. It's probably the only Marduk-album I like.
Immortal - Blashyrkh (Mighty Ravendark)
Anyone seen the video of this? If not, download it. Superb!![]()
System F - Out Of The Blue
One of those impossibly nostalgic tunes that makes me wistfully look back to the halcyon days of about 4 years ago, and hark back to the innocence of yoof etc etc, this little trance number really knows how to tickle my fancy, oh yes. Following it up with Sasha - Xpander, simply because I can. And again. because its a few-year-old trance track that takes be back to the day.
Nice.
Touch my twat.
Seven Nation Army-The White Stripes.
This one must be heard loud.
Eternal Tears of Sorrow - Prophetian
Love "A Virgin And A Whore" I personally think this is their best album. With songs like "The River Flows Frozen" it's excellent
Comforting Sounds-Mew.
I recommend this to everyone. It's got me so hooked I can't do much else and I'm not much of multi-tasker. Damn that Skinner!
Opeth - Face Of Melinda
I'm still waiting to listen to a lot of their stuff -- I can't spend too much time listening to the same artist or I'll go insane. However, this is currently one of my favorite songs. It's not all like... growly and dark, which I'm starting to work away from, but it's comforting and really speaks to me. And the instruments rule.
Well, I don't really have a lot of their albums. I was really unsure of which I should pick up first, so I decided that it would be safest to grab the following:Originally Posted by Soeru

Greatest Hits (Speaks for itself)
I personally, at the moment, prefer Greatest Hits because, since it's the greatest hits, it covers a lot of really, really great songs. But I'm saying you should go with the advice of Hangman. He knows what he's talking about.![]()
Yes, yes I doAnd so does Howie with Disintergration. I guess it depends if you want Goth-esque Cure or Pop-esque Cure. But I like both
Here's a quick low-down.
Boys Don't Cry/Three Imaginary Boys Needs keyboards, more punk driven.
Seventeen Seconds - Same really.
Faith - Yay! First showing of the goth Cure sound.
Pornography - Arguably their best work.
Japanese Whispers - One of my favorites. Mixes goth with pop effortlessly.
The Top - First proper pop-based pieces of work
Head on the Door - Like Japanese Whispers. Has Inbetween Days on, bonus points.
Staring at the Sea (Singles 79-85) - The best compilation to get. Only CD release with Charlotte Sometimes on, the most awesome song ever.
Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me - Proper pop stuff here. Just Like Heaven = beautiful.
Disintergration - Along with Pornography, arguably best work.
Wish - Nice pop-ditty album, in the vein of Kiss Me.
Wild Mood Swings - Eh, weakest effort to date. OK, but not a patch on other stuff.
Galore (Singles 87-97) - Good compilation too. Worth getting with Staring at the Sea.
Bloodflowers - Like Disintergration, but get this after you become a fan.
Greatest Hits - Mostly just their pop tunes, but still top notch. No Fasination Street though, lame. although. Cut Here is probably their best tune since the Friday I'm In Love.
The Cure - They're showing their age a bit, but still, a nice album.
So yeh. And remember they're 80's goth, not Marylin Manson goth
Anyways...
Pink Floyd - Take Up Thy Stethoscope and Walk
From The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, a psychodelic classic. I may have posted aboot this song not long ago, but hell, it's awesome. DOCTOR DOCTOR!

Although it isn't a band/group, I am listening to windchimes. Incredibly soothing.
Somehow the intermittent symphony cleanses the mind, blurring the unwanted, and melding the senses.
Peacefulness.
Jimi Hendrix - Fire
Though I don't really like his music, I can't deny his talent nor his impact. Have to give him a listen every now and again.
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain
I like watchin the puddles gather rain
And all I can do is just pour some tea for two
and speak my point of view
But its not sane..
I just want some one to say to me
Ill always be there when you wake
Ya know Id like to keep my cheeks dry today
So stay with me and Ill have it made
And I dont understand why I sleep all day
And I start to complain that theres no rain
And all I can do is read a book to stay awake
And it rips my life away but its a great escape..
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain...
Venom is a great band. You have to accept that most extreme metal bands use harsh vocals in their music, but that doesn't mean you won't like other bands(at least instrumentally). Something I think you'll like is Immortal's "At the Heart of Winter" album, that pretty much shot up my interest in the genre.Originally Posted by Domingo

Probably their 2nd best song, they also has a video for it. At the Gates, anyone? They really don't do anything new, but I like their style. You wont be missing out on much if you just listen to AtG, but oh well...
Wallachia - Wallachia
Symphonic Black Metal according to metal-archives.com
Pretty decent stuff![]()
Opeth - To Bid You Farewell
My friend thinks this song is great, I don'tWell it's good but not as good as A Fair Judgement
