I have to listen to more DT... other than their "Master of Puppets" bootleg.

    The Pillows - Last Dinosaur

    (theme from the FLCL OVA)

What a good song. I had that "FLCL feel" all of a sudden, I haven't listened to the FLCL OST in almost 6 months. I love this band and the anime's OST. If all alt. rock was like this, I'd be listening to it more often(not that there's anything wrong with Stone Temple Pilots or Soundgarden, I just don't listen to them much anymore).

Hmm... the didn't show up in 4 different metal DC hubs... nor did they appear at Metal-Archives. Chances are that's a hardcore band instead of metal(if the vocals are screamed forcefully, then I'm probably right). If I can find the song I'll let you know what I think of it.

    Arsis - Maddening Disdain

Best Lyrics. Best singing. Best riffs. Best drumming. Best bass lines. Ever.

Yes, this was the very first Arsis song I ever witnessed, and boy does it whip ass. I've been listening to it at least 7 times a week for over 6 months and I still haven't grown tired of their debut album. And two weeks from now, I'm going to see them live(my first metal concert btw, what a way to start off ).

    And it came again,
like tears for a long lost friend.
Tears that find their rest amidst words
    too sordid to comprehend.

    And it came bearing gifts
    Of pain, frankincense, and her.
    None had a home here,
    none but the pain.

Feel the fervor growing but the hate is stronger
My heart was whole with you
    But the pain was mine.
    Come twisted flowers
    Come blistered soul,
    Torturing disdain,
    and the wholeness
    only found in you.

These lyrics -if you can grasp them- are eerily catchy. Any interest in metal = get this song now. You can get 2 others from their site (worshipdepraved.com). I think I may just set em for "band of the week" one more time...

    Alright, sounds cool man.

Cold - The Day Seattle Died

This song is about Kurt Cobain's death, I think its pretty cool.

Judas Priest - The Green Manalishi

What the HELL is a manalishi?!
"I start to think there really is no cure for depression, that happiness is an ongoing battle, and I wonder if it isn't one I'll have to fight for as long as I live. I wonder if it's worth it."

    Indeed.

    Rammstein - Mein Teil

I got their new album, and it's more accessible than their other stuff, and is vaguely good. I was addicted to Amerika, cause it was catchy, then that died. This is a good song, one of the best I'd say.

The best two tracks on "Reise Reise" were Amerika and Reise Reise IMO, but Meil Teil was good... just too "epic".

    Burzum - Aske

*wonders wtf is so great about this band*

    Pink Floyd - High Hopes

From their last studio album in 1994, The Division Bell. I'm beginning to love their post-Waters lyrics just as much as their "classic" line up...

I didn't say it was bad, it's just nothing ground-breaking IMO. There are many better Norwegian BM bands... not just the wanker that burned churches/killed Euronymous/etc. My only real complaint is the horrible recording, I mean most of it is inaudible... and Varg's voice is too loud.

However, from what I've heard so far...
    Burzum>Mayhem.
    End of story.

    Darkthrone - Hans Siste Vinter

Now THIS black metal that I like. Almost sounds like good ol' Wilska from Finntroll on vocals.

    Pink Floyd - Bike

Acid trip in a song. And scary to hear in sterio in earphones.

I know a mouse but he hasn't got a house, I don't know why I call him Gerald...

    HIM - One Last Time

Bloody lovely this. Quietly haunting, but ultimately VERY GOOD INDEED.

Also, Darius - Rushes, which I must admit I find vaguely disturbing, in a horribly cheesy infectious pop-shite way. But there you are.
