Haha I can imagine an MJ dating sim, where most or all of your prey, uh I mean dates, would be children.

Now that would be a game worth abolishing.

But it would sell millions based on its premise alone...

BTW, Norgus... Your avatar's annoying the crap outta me... I'm tired of seeing your ugly mug over and over again... Would you be a sexy exotic dancer, I would not complain, though...

It's not exactly about that. I don't have any problem with anyone making a game that features the 9-11 tragedy, if done tastefully. I just don't think that now's the right time to be doing it....

It bothers me because now they're using it as a marketing scheme...? What a poor excuse... First movies, then videogames, then Pez dispensers...?

Wow... Whoever's behind this shit should be shot... Twice... Once on each testicle...

...they're not using at as a marketing skeam, near as i can tell that is just supposed to be one of several real disasters in the game, they arn't trying to create a big hooplah about 911 being in there, other people are creating that by complaining about it.

anyhow, the games premace isn't new, sounds like a rip off of disaster report to me (although that wasn't based on a real disaster)

edit: I notice somepeople say that it's too soon for this game, as 911 was only a few years ago... but wasn't the paraguay fire thing in that game only a year old? but no one's complaining about that...

Bull, and shit. Of course they're using it as a marketing scheme! Do you think this project would've recieved nearly as much attention if it didn't feature the 9-11 attack in it? Probably not. This game would likely pass way under the radar if it weren't for the fact that they're putting that in there.

And noone is complaining. We're simply voicing our opinions about the issue. Some of us don't think it's a good idea that anyone attempt to exploit 9-11 just now....

correction, it wouldn't be getting any attention in america.

i don't here anyone complaining that the paraguay fires is just to try and get attention from the paraguay audience

Go out on the street and ask anyone what they know about the Paraguay fires...
Go out on the street and ask anyone what they know about 9/11...

    Huge difference there...

And it doesn't matter where it gets the attention, the fact is they're using it as a selling point: "Look! This game has a mission based on 9/11!"... Weak...

Oh. Since bad things happened to Americans then, it's sacred ground, and no one may exploit the incident in any way at all. I see.

Way to miss the point. I don't really think they should be featuring recent tragedies in the game at all, but it seems as if they take much pride in the fact that they're using the 9-11 attacks. They seem to be capitalizing on that fact...

Hehe your right, its beginning to annoy me now you mention it, I'll change it to the avatar Ive started using everywhere else.

    Errm ontopic.....

I think this particular game could well be done to be quite an interesting game if they take care with it. Im not into political correctness and I wouldnt care if for instance it featured some disaster in which someone I knew died in. Whats the point in bitching? its not like its going to be taking the piss out of the victims.

According to Replay, the game, entitled Survivor, "is a third-person disaster survival game with highly interactive locations, based on famous, authentic-historical disaster scenarios." This will not only include the horrors of Sept. 11, but also the 1985 Mexico City earthquake, the 1945 Hiroshima bombing, and the sinking of the Titanic. Why would anyone want to experience any of these hellish events? "We call this unique genre 'reality gaming,'" goes Replay's sales pitch. "[This] highly original single-player game concept has never been seen before."
Yeah. Almost a whole sentence dedicated to the World Trade Centre, they should shut up about it and try getting a game sold over its interesting concept or something instead.
