    Dream Theater - Home

One of their best tunes ever. Another possible choice to record for perfomance, if I can just end the last section...

    Behemoth - Conquer All

This'll probably be the most popular song on the new Demigod album. The riffs are fabulous, and this is the most "melodic" songs on the album. Note the quotations.

Btw: here's a little sample from it on their site(it's a rehersal video):

    Faith No More - Easy

"Turn the lights out baby...this one's for the ladies in the house!" I swear, Mike Patton is a goddamn pimp.

Converge do not bear any similarities at all to Queensryche. I was just telling him to listen to Converge, becase everybody should be. And Hangman, what were your instructions?

    Converge - You Fail Me

The title track from their latest release. Exceptionally easy on guitar, but to such a great effect...

I took the de-sensitization advice as well, and I went deaf. I usually listen to things on full volume, and this was no exception, but I contemplated turning it down.

Between the Buried and Me - Mordecai

I haven't gotten around to sampling the rest of their stuff. Big mistake, according to this song, Everything after 1:00 minute is good. The growl is bearable, and there's that awesome guitar piece between the clean and growl vocals.

Between the Buried and Me is a progressive-ish metalcore band right? I gotta listen to more stuff from them, they kick ass.

At the Gates - Blinded by Fear

One of my fav. AtG songs. This band is great, I need to listen to more Gothenburg bands...

Not really progressive, they just genre shift a lot, and they're more death metal than most metalcore bands, I think you would like them. On that note...

BTBAM - Naked By The Computer

From the first/superior self titled album...

I saw Dio live a few years back when they were supporting Alice Cooper

    Converge - The Saddest Day

Once you get past the vocal and begin to appreciate the importance of them, you'll be fine, and on a rollercoaster ride like no other. Surely you must like the buildup thing in the middle?

    Lightning Bolt - 2 Towers

Loving this album! /me seeks out Jim for some more Math Rock...

Dismember is great, one of the best Swedish (non-melo) DM bands.

Between the Buried and Me - Reaction

Only song I've heard so far. Woo... rather surprising, but strangely this was also what I was expecting. If you're not paying attention, it totally feels like the song changes about twice during the whole song. Indeed, lots of DM in there, and it's pretty technical when compared to other metalcore bands. The best parts are the last 1/3 of the song and the guitar melodies at about 3:15, which take you totally by surprise.

    Anorexia Nervosa - Antiferno

Reminds of Cradle Of Filth, meh. But good anyways.

    Einherjer - Hammar Haus

Yay, my friend finally found my copy of Blot, which is without a doubt one of the greatest albums of 2003. Viking Metal owns ye all. And so does Haugesund (which is where the band is from and where I live). Too bad they split up.

    Mew - Mica

I genuinely feel like this song was written for Mew to go back to the 80's and release, where it would fit in more and probably get them the attention they deserve. Class tune.
