Bare Naked Ladies - One Week

Never has so much Canadian cheese been put into music, pure class. Time for me to re-claim the Music Zone Throne of Pop Whore-ness.

    Behemoth - Towards Babylon

Good god. This band could seriously become my favorite, maybe I should stop all this In Flames worship. Kick ass, same goes for all Polish death metal(Decapitated, Vader, Behemoth...).

    Yeah...

    I believe you forgot Poland.

As Above As Below is it's name.

    Tierra Santa - Apocalipsis

The albums is good 'n all, but the cover-artwork stinks.

Foo Fighters - My Way Home

Best way to finish their best album so far. Ace tune, with some severe tamborine action.

Tierra Santa could have done a far way better cover, I agree.

Angeles del Infierno - El Rey

An awesome cover from a mexican folk song.

Yes, the cover looked like a bunch of Spanish plumbers' faces in the sky. Glad to see your listening to some Spanish bands, Hao.

    Metallica - The Four Horsemen

Undoubtedly, Metallica was THE thrash band of the 1980's. I still can't decide which is better: Kill Em All or Ride the Lightning. Master of Puppets was probably my favorite album, but the other two are tied to 2nd place. AJFA was not all that great IMO, but infinitely superior to the black album. There you go, Metallica's peak in less than 4 sentences.

Justice owns you and all their other stuff. So there.

    Shadows Fall - Idle Hands

This is one of the most rifftastic songs ever. Love the guitar solo also...

Is "The War Within" a good album? I've been rather reluctant to get some of their stuff, since I really didn't like the vocalists work on "Power of I and I", but I think the instrumentals may just be worth it. What do you think?
And uh... Justice was great, but nowhere near Kill Em All. I mean, it had some mustard in it, if you know what I'm talking about.

    Time Requiem - Reflections

I've had their stuff for well over a year, but I haven't bothered to listen to them up until now. Kind of like power metal, but not nearly as cheesy(for the most part), with some symphonic stuff thrown in a la Rhapsody. This song even has a nifty CoB-ish keyboard/guitar solo(can't tell). The guitars sound very complex, unlike most power metal. If this isn't considered progressive metal in any way, I don't know what is.

Btw: Slim: Really hope you check out this week's band. Being a LoG fan, I think you'll like the riffs in Behemoth's "Conquer All" and the song/video in my sig.

I havent heard the new album, but I hear it's easily their best effort. I don't really like the vocals either, but The Art Of Balance is chock full of awesome riffs. I'll get some Behemoth if you keep pimping them. I'm really backed up on bands I need to check out.

Explosions In The Sky - Six Days At THe Bottom Of The Ocean

I've had this album for ages and I've never really got into it. Post Rock is time consuming stuff, I always feel like I'd rather be listening to GY!BE. It's decent though...

Guns n' Roses - You Could Be Mine

Damn this song is great. If I remember correctly, this song was used in the Terminator movie? Or maybe I'm just babbling bullshit since it's 1:10 AM... Anyways, Use Your Illusion II was kickass. Velvet Revolver can't quench my thirst for GnR goodness. This song reminds me of Hardline(band containing the guy who sang the songs from the Sonic Adventure games, Jon Gioeli), but it's really the other way around, since I've been listening to GnR since I was 2 or 3.

    Edit:
Immortal - Withstand the Fall of Time

Damn, after only 3 listens, "At the Heart of Winter" has become my favorite black metal album. Thrashy yet beutifully melodic riffs... and the theme this album sets for you is just amazing. I think I'm really going to like "Sons of Northern Darkness" once I listen to it thoroughly, since it's Immortal's other melodic effort. My favorite BM bands for now are all melodic(Naglfar, Immortal, few others). Hopefully I can get more into the less melodic stuff so I can appreciate bands like Burzum, Mayhem, and Darkthrone. In Battle, Behexen, Judas Iscariot, Ragnarok, Bathory(although I prefer Quorthon's viking stuff), and Marduk are the only not-so-melodic BM bands that I like so far.

Btw Slim, if you plan on getting any album by Behemoth, then get Zos Kia Cultus(or Cvltvs? Contains the song/video in my sig), Demigod(new one, not in stores yet, easy to find on p2p) and Thelema 6. You might want to check out "From the Pagan Vastlands" too, but that one is totally black metal, which I don't think you like. Most black metal bands start out as death metal then quickly evolve into BM. Behemoth has done the opposite while still conserving some little bits of BM in their songs. I find the riffs more delicious than LoG's, same goes for the vocals and drumming, but I won't spoil the band any further. Enjoy.

Planes Mistaken For Stars - Belly Full Of Hell

I don't know what it is, but somehow, they contain all the intensity and rawness of hXc, but keep it accessible sounding. Must be the awesome riffage...

    Avskum - Bullshit Defenders

No idea how I downloaded this, must've clicked something I shouldn't have in DC++. It's some pretty fast punky stuff. The singer is screaming a bit, so I guess that makes it hardcore punk? Who cares, it's not bad at all.

    Converge - Jane Doe

Nary a day goes by when I don't listen to this album. Converge = The supreme rulers of all things metal or punk...
