    Default Replacing Startup Screen

    I've been searching for ways to replace the startup screen with something custom. I've been told logo.sys is an actual bitmap, and ways to edit/replace it, but I have not located the file. Looking for the wrong thing?

    I'm running windows xp home edition.

    Login or Boot?
    logo.sys? (WTF)
    You could easily search for some custom screens at themexp.org. They got plenty of them.

    The boot screen with the little loading ->NTOSKRNL.EXE
    The login screen ->logonui.exe

    Here is a easy tutorial to read how to make your own login->

    BTW, if you want to change them, you need to boot under safe mode.

    As I recall, the logo.sys thing only works in older versions of Windows (e.g. 98). In XP it's not so easy. Well, actually it is...

    Just use Style XP - http://www.tgtsoft.com/
