At The Gates - Slaughter Of The Soul

Owners of all other Gothenburg bands. That's right. Thrashy melo death. Cool. Salted beef jerky...

    The Faint - Agenda Suicide

Bleeps and bloops and goes "LIKE A GAS SHADOW" a whole lot, so it must be good.

    Slayer - Mandatory Suicide

Little did I know that song by Decapitated was a cover for a Slayer song. If it wasn't for Tom Araya's voice, I'd instantly say the instrumentals sounded like death metal. I love this song, Jeff Hannemann rules.

Slim, At the Gates are indeed the shit.

    Stratovarius - Galaxies

Veeeeeeeeery long time since I've listened to this band. Kotipelto's voice is awesome, but I might have to use my copy of Fourth Dimension in a sandwich. I'm out of cheese...

Yeah, Lisa Gerrard and Hans Zimmer. Yes. Punching good.

The Dillinger Escape Plan - Panasonic Youth

After giving "Miss Machine" a few listens, I realized that tDEP isn't crap at all. In fact, I'm starting to take a deep liking for this weird-ass kind of music. This is of the few bands which I have learned to like, most bands that I like to are "love at first listening". I do have a slight complaint on the vocals, but oh well...

    Opeth - Black Rose Immortal

The clean section at 9:42 is just the best! Second only to The Moor in terms of great Opeth songs. For those not in the know, Opeth are a death/black metal band who are very layered and intricate, with a lot of clean vocals as well as death. A perfect start to anyone's death metal journey. And the own you...

Soeru, how much progress have you made on my list? PM me with what you like/hate or whatever...

Dillinger Escape Plan - Setting Fire To Sleeping Giants

Beats me how a metalhead can dislike this voice...

    Behemoth - Thy Winter Kingdom

Awesome polish black metal (later Death/Black). Can't wait for Demigod to be released.

Dude, it's already out. I'd expect a DC++ nut like you to have found out sooner.

Jim, I've listened to nearly all of the bands you mentioned, will pm you later or tommorow with my thoughts on the music.

    In Slumber - Sworn

I just can't get enough of melodic death metal... this is one of the more thrashy melo death bands. Great shit. This band is a side project from members of Third Moon, another great melo death band.

Eh, in the store I mean. :eyeball: I've had the album on my HD for a while now.

    Helloween - Before the War

One of the better songs of The Time of the Oath. Awesome. Yes.

    Oh.

Blind Guardian - Mies del Dolor

Heh, Spanish with a German accent is quite funny. Also a bit hard to understand. This is a great epic song, supposedly a Spain-only bonus track.

Alan Parsons Project - Eye In The Sky

Only song of theirs I listen to and I love it. Don't think it could hurt much to try out some more. I have one of their albums on vinyl, but no turntable...

    Finntroll - Aldhissla

I brought my discman and my copy of Jaktens Tid to school today, and listened to it 'till the battery went out. Aldhissla is one of the most awesome songs ever. Ever. Yes.

    Opeth - Deliverance

My favourite Opeth song from my favourite Opeth album, which also happens to have the same name.
    Trogdor, Trogdor

    Trogdor was a man
    Uhh...Maybe he was a Dragon-Man
Uhh...Maybe he was just a Dragon
    Uhm...but he was still

    Trogdor, Trogdor

    Burninating the countryside
    Burninating the peasants
    Buriniating all the people
    in their Thatched Roof Cottages

    Thatched Roof Cottages

And The Trogdor Comes in The Night.
