If you are throwing a party or have the money sebor absinth is a great drink. A bit pricey in US dollars (about 75 -90) a bottle, but worth it if you like alcohal. Kind of tastes like really really bitter Jagermeister, but the effect is very nice. My other drinks of choice (much cheaper ) vodka, captain morgan's private stock rum, and a good ole white russian every now and then.

I saw this earlier and think it would make an excellent party favor, especially if a lot of your friends love them some jager.

(edit: I thought it was 150 - 175 but realized we bought the triple
pack with the special cup, and spoon it comes with, and I don't know what 135.00 is in US dollars. I took a guess...)

Heh, sometimes, when I'm hurting for bucks, I'll go with the ghetto stuff. Ghetto, in that it's cheap, and it'll fuck you up. For instance, Saint Ides and Olde English. That, and good old Steel Reserve. Not good in that it tastes good, but yeah...again, it'll fuck you up for cheap.

Goldschlager. The only thing I drink. You see those flakes in the liquid? Yeah that is 100% real gold right there. Yeah and it has a really godly cinnamon taste. Try it if you haven't. And send me a bottle if you do try it. PM me for address details.

You sure that's real gold? I mean, it's probably real gold colored flakes.

That stuff is indeed the shit. I haven't had that stuff for about...6 years or so. Though, I've bought cheap schnapps that tasted pretty much the same.

Yeah that's real. It's such a small amount that you will never ever be able to sell it for more than a dollar. And being as how it's about $20 per bottle, it's not like they won't be able to afford to keep doing it, you know?

Ah, I see. I never knew that those were actual gold flakes. I thought it'd be kinda silly for them to put gold flakes into a drink, no matter how small an amount. I thought it some sort of edible facade. I stand corrected. That's rather cool, actually.

I haven't had goldschlager in years. It's good stuff if you can get past the cinnamon(sp?)

Nah, actually that's another recipe for a 'Snakebite', it seems there are a few of them. I had to look at a few before I found the one that I'd had. The place we got them from actually served them with a straw, the idea being that the straw was touching the bottom so you got the tobasco first
Yeah, deffinately worth trying if you find a place that does them, or even making them yourself.

I saw some people go completly mad after taking some absinth. So you'll never see me take that shit. I was so damn scared, a group of people destroyed the bar where I was drinking my whatever flavored rhum (they had about 50 flavors of rhum, btw it's in Toulouse, France, it's called La Calle Sche if you wanna go over it)
To make that short, they destroyed the bar, and this place is so damn little I couldn't run away and received a wooden barrel full of rhum behind my back. Obviously I was hurt a bit, fell on the floor, had chance I wasn't walked over by like 200 people running away.
Just to see how they acted was so damn scaring.
Even though it may not have been because of absinth, that traumatised me.

Alcohol is bad for you. Didn't you know that?
I hope that makes you all stop drinking.

If not... I love pumpkin rum.

Yeah I highly doubt it was the absinth unless they were mixing it. To reproduce the effect you see on tv you have to mix it with something I won't discuss here. I personally have never done this because I like it just the way it is. So they probably "spiked it" (best term I could think of) and that is what made them act crazy. Absinth itself is very calm, although you do get very intoxicated.

Funny story: The friend that helped me drink those two bottles got so axed he passed out in his chair for like 10-20 secs then suddenly woke up and wanted more. I was like "What? you drank it all dumbass" He was like "Nooo!!!" then started jokingly caressing the bottles before we put them on my shelf (which is where that pic is shot).

They sit right next to my ex-drink of choice. Rumplemintz.. I might actually take another shot of the shrine... lol

I've always wanted to try a Stolichkonya...they look so cool.
For beer, I like VB. Meh, call me an Aussie, but what the hey. For stronger drinks, I've only ever had whiskey, and it's less thatn good.
