Unwritten Law - Up all night

These guys are actually pretty good, I like this song, very heavy compared to the style they are used to.

Sonata Arctica - Misplaced

The intro on Reckoning Night, pretty good stuff. So far, this album is awesome.

Mastodon - Iron Tusk

Leviathan is great! After a few more listens, I now consider it their best effort. And I adore both Remission and Lifesblood...

Satyricon - Mother North

Fuck their new Volcano album, this song is a masterpiece of melodic black metal. I'm really watching the video. Great stuff, and it's the uncensored version, so a bit of nudity in there.

Adema - Everyone
I've yet to hear a song by these guys that I don't like. Of course, a bunch of them sound the same, but that's not their fault!

Ayreon - Day Eleven: Love

One of the better songs on The Human Equation. I'm addicted to that album, LaBrie is God. For some reason, I don't like Dream Theater that much...

Alkaline Trio - This Could Be Love
An interesting song. I rather like the chorus going into the third verse.

"Step one: slit my throat
Step two: play in my blood
Step three: cover me in dirty sheets
And run laughing out of the house
Step four: take me down to Edgebook Creek
And rinse your crimson hands
You held me hostage and made your demands
I couldn't reach 'em so you cut off my fingers
One by one
This could be love...
Love for fire..!"

The Black Deliah Murder - Funeral Thirst

Strangely, this is of the few metal bands I've discovered on MTV that I actually like. No mainstream at all, technical/melodic death metal. There are so many parts to this great song, and the vocalist kicks incalculable amounts ass. Very elaborate, but many people(including myself) bitch at the fact that they're ripping off bands like At the Gates. Their songs aren't something extremely original or new, but they'll keep you entertained for a while.

RHCP - Breaking the Girl.
If you know me AT ALL, you would know why I'm listening to this song.
(For those who don't know me, RHCP is my favourite band)

Arsis - Close

The intro is kind of funny:

"I think we should've... I don't want to do anymore..."

(someone else): "No wimps, no false metal".

Then you get some awesome powerful riffs. This song is only on their demo, and it took me a while to find it. Arsis didn't get the spotlight on my "band of the week" sig for no reason, mind you, "A Celebration of Guilt" is the best death metal album released this year, and is my favorite DM album of all time for now.

Jack Off Jill - Cinnamon Spider

"Consumed by hate and guilt
She'll never retire
Too old to fix
Too dead to ever acquire
Slit wrists- talk shit
But she will never inspire a plan to save herself
The cinnamon spider"

d00d... read the rules. You have to give a little information on what you like about the song/band/album/genre.

Out Of Your Mouth - Last Day Alive
Fitting for my mood right now. A good old Canadian band that is actually very good. They have a rather different sound to them with all the weird shit that they put into their songs (check out Wank to see what I mean). It's rather fun.
