Cannibal Corpse - Devoured by Vermin(music video)

Just downloaded a torrent with a bunch of death metal videos. Although CC have been around for quite some time, I've never really listened to a lot of their stuff. Now I know what band was playing in a scene on the movie "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective". Not bad, considering they're very early death metal.

Godspeed You Black Emperor! - Storm

I have a enormous amount of respect for these guys. The amout of success they've achieved for being a band with no lyrics, 20 minutes songs and a wierd ass name is amazing.

Storm - Oppi Fjellet

Same song again, I just love it. I love it so much I just looked up the guitar tab and drummed it into my head. I can play it nicely now.

Minus The Bear - We Are Not A Football Team

This band gets better every time I hear them. Great stuff. Need to be mentioned in that originality thread. Indie pop with a math element to them. Song titles are just marvellous also...

Koldbrann - Kaosmanifest

Excellent Black Metal from... Norway (of course). A band to watch out for in the future...

Nirvana - Radio Friendly Unit Shifter
The intro is really, really (really, really) creepy.

The fact that in that scene, they had "Cannibal Corpse" in the background didn't clue you in?

I don't remember seeing a background poster... 0.o
and I don't think I need to remind a mod to edit his posts instead of double-posting.

Immortal Souls - Welcome to North

Melodic death from Finland. They sound a bit different compared to all the Gothenburg/Gothenburg influenced bands out there. They're not very well known, but good nonetheless. They even sound a bit like plain ol' rock at times... nice.

Lamb Of God - Hourglass

Ashes Of The Wake is fucking \m/><\m/. Fucking awesome riffage in their own brand of thrash/death/metalcore. ATPB was released here this year. LoG just might be the merchants of my two favourite releases of this year. Might be. Dillinger and Converge and stuff...

Indeed, I listened to the whole album yesterday, and I must say I was pleased. Better than I thought it would be, although I didn't like the singing in "Laid to Rest".

Arsis - Painted Eyes

I got my hands on the rare Arsis demo from 2002(or 3?). It's incomplete, as the whole demo has like 3 or 4 songs from the released album and 4 that aren't(this only has 4 tracks, 2 old ones and 2 from the new CD), this is one of them. Very cool stuff, it sounds much more melodic and less brutal than "A Celebration of Guilt". If you have DC++, search for it. It's a demo, therefore legal to download.

Lamb Of God - Blood Of The Scribe

Despite discovering a bunch of bands last night, I'd say this will occupy my listening for a while now...

Finntroll - Grottans Barn

I think this is the best song on Nattfdd, my honest opinion

The best song on Nattfdd is Fiskarens Fiende in my opinion.

Judas Priest - Breaking the Law

From Rob's "Live Insurrection". One of the better live versions of this song.

Susperia - Situation Awareness

Very very interesting mix of melodic death(and a bit of black) metal and thrash metal. Hard to explain, you just have to listen to the album "Unlimited". Picture the instrumentals from a good death metal band and James Hetfield-ish singing(with a bit more growl). This is by far the best death thrash I've ever heard(I never really liked Sepultura, but this is awesome).
