wow, thanks for the idea Matt. I sure do have DSL and broadband in my area (in Dallas, Texas. It's a big city, we have to have access to it) I 'll try to find some info on it in my area. I think this a a good offer. $29.99 a month, so it's $30 a month for Yahoo! DSL. I wonder if it's really a deal, or dud.

I know how it feels to upload with 56k... I'm doing it now and with the snes it takes like ages to get thru. At the moment I have to just endure it, but I'm going for broadband as soon as I can (waiting a bit as I've just been confirmed for a second interview with an australian broadband isp, so might get a cheaper deal)
But I can tell you that it took me 3 days to upload 490+ of NES roms, so that gives you an idea of how long it will take me with 250+ SNES roms LOL
I feel with you buddy... but some of us have to do it I guess

wow, for NES games, that doesn't seem a long time, on a 56k.
My connection costs $9.99 from Juno.

I pay AU$16.50 for my 56k connection... plus phone connection... really sucks, but heck I've just calculated that if I upload nonstop all day then I'll finish uploading my snes roms in a week... damn that sucks but it has to be done LOL

Thanks for the luck. I just hope they come up with even a faster connection, (if possible), so DSL or broadband would be cheaper.

geez...I feel sorry for you people...and to think I thought my internet was slow at only a 500-600kb/s max, average of 250kb/s...I would really recommend searching on the net for a better internet...faster actually doesn't always mean more expensive...I have a cable connection and it's $20 a month while our local 56k provider is $40...figure that out

I pay 24.99 a month for Road Runner in Central NY, I can upload like a wiz and my download speed has maxed out at 1.4 something megs a sec downloading from File Planet, So about you're question uploading on 56k, Simple, Don't. unless you plan to upload a 1 meg file in 15-20 minutes. I can upload a meg in about 6 seconds, So, get the DSL in you're area for about 10 - 20 bucks more a month, it's worth it in the long run, I had DSL before and when it went out I had access to the 56k server, It was worthless, and now DSL is worthless for what I have now, So if you get DSL/ISDN/Cable you will be in heaven.

Your RoadRunner seems to be better than mine. By the way, I was in Tompkins county today. >:P
