sounds like australian cities are just like cities anywhere else. it's no fun w/o kangaroos so i guess i won't even visit australia.

It all depends where you live. I spent 16 months in the outback in some of their mining towns and you would see kangaroos in the middle of the town. Not to mention that I went to a funeral at a beautiful cemetery... and while watching the poor bastard being lowered into the grave I could see several kangaroos looting a grave in the back LOL... now I know what they have in their pockets........
The only dangerous spiders I've seen in the west here is the redback, the black spider, the jumping spider and some weird night spider that only puts up its web during night and takes it down by morning... Still have to experience a face to face encounter with a shark... but that will come with summer... can't wait
