Five Iron Frenzy - Metal Rules!

It's weird, cuz this song could probably be high-quality, but instead it's got a squirrel voice, which changes the rating form "quality song" to "humor at the expense of an entire genre." Actually, I think the guy who wrote this song likes metal, but is in a goofy band, so... yeah. Majority ruled in this case. I like it. Oh yeah, and Power Rangers do NOT suck! They're totally kickin'! They've had, like, what, 15 makeovers since I used to watch them? Yeah. Mastadon power, dawg.

Black metal makes your parents worry that you're a homosexual, if anything.

TSOL - Code Blue

This is what you listen to if you want to shock. Best ode to necrophilia ever. Classic OC hardcore.

Key lyrical excerpts:

"And I don't even care how she died,
but I like it better if she smells of formaldehyde!"

"Won't even care if I shoot in her hair,
Lying on the table she just smiles and she stares!"

That's disgusting anyway... why are we talking about people crapping their pants and becoming gay, anyway? I thought this was about music.

Relient K - Maybelline. All about the face value of stuff, the blame we put on other things, fakeness, shells.... yeah. Plus it's funny.

Heh I almost got to see them with Danzig. They couldn't get into the US though. It was right after Sept. 11th. Back when the US thought foriegn = bad. Wait a minute.....We still think like that.....

Anyway, I'm now listening to the Power Rangers Zeo theme. Laugh all you want, but this damn theme sounds like Metallica could have recorded it (aside from the vocals). Crazy double-bass action.

Marduk would've actually bothered to tour in the US? And with a rock band(Danzig)? I'm aware of Danzig's lyrical content, but I didn't expect that. 0.o

And uh, black metal only makes people think you're some depressed lunatic, you like to worship satan, you like to pretend you're a satanist, etc. I've never heard of music that would make people question your sexual preference since Ricky Martin. Btw, you can see me stance on homosexuality here

Marduk isn't that great of a band anyway.

...and damn, what's all this hype about the Power Rangers, dude? If it had a serious storyline I might even consider watching one of the several versions of the series.

Black Sabbath - Hand of Doom

You could say these guys are the birth of heavy and doom metal... which are nothing alike. I like to think of BS as an early doom metal band instead of the fathers of metal. Either way, their approach to rock and blues rulez.

Dream Theater - Fatal Tragedy

Yeah, the solo is awesome, but I guess most of you already know that.

Ceremonial Oath - Dreamsong

I finally got my hands on stuff by this unknown band. Highly reccomended to anyone who likes melodic DM at least one bit. Dating back earlier than even Dark Tranquility or In Flames, this band probably started the whole Gothenburg/melodic death metal scene. It features Jesper Stromblad on guitars, and once had Anders Friden on vocals(*cough*In Flames, anyone? ). They date back to 1989 and only released about 2 or 3 albums, so far I only have one.

I just recently read that the band plans to reunite once again pretty soon. Can't wait to see how this turns out.

Btw Howie, I spotted you on the hub I downloaded the album "Carpet" from. I tried to grab the other albums off you but you never have any free slots.

I noticed that you downloaded my filelist, so I granted you a slot. For some reason, when I give slots to people nowadays it just doesn't work. Anyway, you're in my favourite user-list now, and you'll get an autoslot.

Ayreon - Into the Electric Castle (album)

Not better than The Human Equation, but still good.

EDIT: Forgot to say that this song is great, but I would really love to hear it in english.

I just finished listening to that the other day. I put it on a CD that I used to completely romanticize my woman. It worked rather well, I might add. It wasn't the typical sort of romance songs ("Come What May" by Nicole Kidman & Ewan McGregor, for example), they were more heavy songs (somewhat) with random slow songs thrown in. Really just background music.

Anyways. I'm currently listening to:

Opeth - Closure
One of the first songs I heard by Opeth. I seriously am liking this band, although I must admit that their CDs so far that I have seen have been rather expensive. The one I wanted to pick up today but didn't was $30.99CAD plus taxes.
