Great song, a more slowed down S.T. song, that has a pretty nice solo in it, great 80/90's band. This song also shows the more emotional side to the band. Also, that is the name of the cd which has many other great songs, such as Trip At The Brain, and Pledge Your Allegiance(sp?) (classic ass ST song!). Check out ST....NOW!

    Arsis - Face Innocence

I just downloaded this from Soeru's sig, and I must say, great find Soeru, I love the drums. Singer has a pretty cool ass voice too.

EDIT: can't double post, so I did it this way.
"The Face of My Innocence" is the whole title. I should've written the title in my sig. Hopefully no one will steal my idea. Coincidentially, I just found myself singing the song when I clicked on this thread. Speaking of which, check out the little sound clip I uploaded in my "Preffered singing style" thread.
Get their whole album from eMule or buy it , it's well worth it.

Edit: Behind the Scenery - Blinded by Abnormality

Holy shit, this band sounds so much like the early In Flames. The vocals, drumming, and especially the guitars sound just like the songs from "Lunar Strain", In Flames' first album. I just love it, I should get around to listening to my new downloaded stuff more often. I still have over 20 Gb of shite to listen to.

    Iran - Pick Up/Stillborn

Experimental track. The first few minutes are surprisingly catchy, but in the sort of perverse way you'd expect, and suddenly gives way to what seems to be random noise. The pleasant kind of random noise, mind. It gains intensity, and you die.

brilliant.one of those songs which start out sounding as though they were just meant to be the intro track......and then it flows on to become quite something else.nobody other than tortoise could have pulled this off....save godspeed.

    Arch Enemy - Aces High

A cover of the Iron Maiden classic, not bad...
    Trogdor, Trogdor

    Trogdor was a man
    Uhh...Maybe he was a Dragon-Man
Uhh...Maybe he was just a Dragon
    Uhm...but he was still

    Trogdor, Trogdor

    Burninating the countryside
    Burninating the peasants
    Buriniating all the people
    in their Thatched Roof Cottages

    Thatched Roof Cottages

And The Trogdor Comes in The Night.

Arch Enemy had a cover for that song? Damn, I guess I'm missing at least one of their albums...

Finntroll - Asfgelns Dd (had to copy that title )
Troll-ish song, as usual. I've been listening to their experimental ambient/acoustic album "Visor Om Slutet" quite a bit lately, I just leave it playing in the BG whilst I play Ragnarok Online since it's slow and somewhat relaxing. I can't help but add the fast-paced classics from Midnattens Widunder and Jaktens Tid though.

Havent heard it, but Brilliant songs + Shitty bands = Cunt.

Solitude, I don't know how versed you are in post rock yet, but there is a whole bunch of great bands in the genre. Try Explosions In The sky if you havent yet.

Judas Priest - You've Got Another Thing Coming

Learning it, because of how easy it is to sing at the same time. Awesome song too...

    Helloween - Hey Lord!

Fucking ace song. Gotta love that 80's feel to it. Personally, I prefer Helloween's vocalist over Bruce Dickinson at times. Helloween is teh suck.

    Soundgarden - Outshined

Show me the power child, I'd like to say, that I'm down on my knees today.

Catchiest chorus evar. Main riff in 7/8 also, cool time sig. Chris Cornell wins the game...

    Sethian - Purity in Sorrow

Wilska from Finntroll on clean vocals = awesome. Doom/Heavy Metal.

Was Wilska the guy that had to retire due to a tumor? Or should I just re-read Finntroll's bio a few times.

    Bad Religion - Sorrow

Their new album is pretty good, not as good as their older stuff. I just don't like the overuse of chorus in punk... Lyrics are great too.

The guy you're talking about is Katla, which retired after "Jaktens Tid" (though he did do some vocals on Visor om Slutet). Wilska is the new guy.

    Dragonforce - Evening Star

Dragonforce is amazing. Everything is so... fast! Aaah... I love this shit.

    and

Skyclad - Think Back and Lie of England

One of the best songs on Folkmon. Skyclad's lyrics is both funny and great.

    Finntroll - Nattfodd.
First Finntroll song I heard, and I've loved the band ever since. I'm starting to memorize some lyrics from Jaktens Tid, but I find it even harder than memorizing Rammstein lyrics. I mean I can at least pronounce German fairly well, but all these other Nordic languages are some tough shit.

Howie, got any other similar Folk bands I should listen to? I feel that I'm stuck with just Finntroll, Moonsorrow, and Mago de Oz.

Elvenking, Skyclad, Skyforger, Korpiklaani, Lumsk, Agalloch, Cruachan, Turisas, Otyg and Tuatha de Danann. I could list more though, but these band is easier to find mp3's of...

Children of Bodom - Aces High

One of the better Iron Maiden-covers out there. By the way, one of the new CoB-songs is leaked onto the net, "Knuckleduster", and for some reason, it reminds me of "Cloud Connected" by In Flames... (only better). Bah.

    Rammstein - Mein Teil

I'm a fan of Rammstein, and I just got this song the other day. Awesome song, if you like Rammstein... too bad the CD doesn't come out till November...

...du bist was du isst und ihr wisst was es ist.... hah, crazy Germans...
"I start to think there really is no cure for depression, that happiness is an ongoing battle, and I wonder if it isn't one I'll have to fight for as long as I live. I wonder if it's worth it."

*me searches for the new CoB leaks* I liked CoB's cover of Aces High more than any other Maiden cover I've heard by other bands... well, except their interpretation of The Trooper. Their cover for Ozzy's "Shot in the Dark" is decent too btw. I'm rather scared of what you said about their new song... but I guess I'll have to see for it myself. Thanks for the list of bands, O folkmaster.

Isn't Mein Teil the name of a band too? My Tail... I guess.

Arsis - "The Sadistic Motives Behind Bereavement Letters"
So great. So great. So fucking great. Click the image in my sig now, you mofo! Alas, it's not the same song in my sig(nor the one I linked to), but all the tracks from their album rip the shit out of almost every death metal band out there.
