Dimmu Borgir - Progenies of the Great Apocaly

Yes, Howie, now I fully understand how cheesy Borgir's latest shite can be. The cheese factor becomes more prominent after listening to it a few times. This is the song in the TV commercial of the album "Death Cult Armaggedon". Later on in the song it gets a bit interesting with a few seconds of "real" black metal, but the rest really sounds like a cheesy fucking soundtrack for a blockbuster movie.

Jazz pwns. The remix's of Charlie Parker's stuff are amazing, and shows why jazz is so great. The fact that it was good in it's day and now it's being remixed into great and fresh sounding music.

Tool - Schizim
My favorite Tool song so far, but then again, I haven't heard many of their songs. I have their albums, I just haven't gotten around to listening to them all. I love the bass playing, and the riffing just sounds so much like a doom metal song from... I don't know, Green Carnation or Katatonia. Really cool, although they're other stuff is not what I thought it would be.

TechKnow, do you know any other albums similar to "Endtroducing"? I checked out DJ Shadow's other albums, but they're mostly funk music. Which isn't bad, I've just been craving for more stuff like "Endtroducing" since last year. I've downloaded a few chillout compilations but they don't fully satisfy my needs.

I know what you mean, I'm kinda of disappointed with his newer stuff myself, well in comparison to Endtroducing. I guess the closest stuff to Endtroducing I can think of would be some of DJ Krush's stuff. Try his album "Krush" or "Meiso".

Heh, quite a coincidence. Dj Krush is the closest thing I've found to Shadow. It's a Japanese DJ if I remember correctly.

A remix he did for a song from Boom Boom Satellites(don't know the title) kicked so much ass. It was like slow with a piano and a slow beat, kind of like if you were on a satellite in outer space or something.

Hammerfall - The Dragon Lies Bleeding
I can understand that people can't relate to the content of the lyrics(although it's loaded with metaphors), but even if it's about medieval fantasy, why can't it kick ass?

I mean, how can you possibly not love the main verse? \m/

Beseech - Forever Falling

An awesome Goth rock song from a Swedish Goth Rock/Metal band. Really cool, it's soft and easy to listen to. This band really changed my thoughts on Goth people, I guess they aren't all angsty and depressive teenagers.

Due to the fact the only drum tab I can find for this song is a bit shite, and Mike Portnoys tab book is aboot £35, I transcribed the drumming to this piece pretty much from scratch onto Sibelius/MIDI. Just finished. Yayness.

Took me forever to track this song down after hearing it for the first time. Great electronica track, the vocals and the beat mix very well.

Apparently, it's funk. But i'm not so sure. Fucking good song though...
