I would think gas would be more expensive in the US, seeing how we don't use the Euro as currency and OPEC is selling more to countries that use the Euro. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You are wrong. Consider yourself corrected.
In the EU, generally, most of the nations put a horrendous amount of tax on every litre of peterol/diesel available.

the US have always tried not to do this, mainly because they rely so heavily on fossil fuels. And making the fuel they use the most more expensive, would be political suicide for any country leader.

    $1.89 Gal USD.
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain
I like watchin the puddles gather rain
And all I can do is just pour some tea for two
and speak my point of view
    But its not sane..
I just want some one to say to me
Ill always be there when you wake
Ya know Id like to keep my cheeks dry today
So stay with me and Ill have it made
And I dont understand why I sleep all day
And I start to complain that theres no rain
And all I can do is read a book to stay awake
And it rips my life away but its a great escape..
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain...

Back near LA... it was in the $2.20-2.40 range. Here, it's anywhere from $2.05-2.15. Gotta love California.
