What is WildTangent???

Hi,

I recently brought some software and games on a couple of CDrs from one of my friend's PC and in the games section, there was some setup file that I stupidly double clicked. It showed that it will install Wild Tangent on your PC. I thought it might be some game or something. I clicked on Install.

Now, I don't know what it is or where it has installed it self. It doesn't even come up in the Add and Remove Programs list. I accidentally stumbled upon something called "Wild Tangent Settings" or something like that in the control panel. When I double clicked on it, it opened up a window with some hardware settings or something like that.

Also I remember when it was almost installed, it told me that it will also install a Winamp Plugin.

Now I wanna know what the hell is this. Is it GOOD or BAD for my PC. What does it do and HOW TO REMOVE IT.

I have Windows XP Professional with service pack 1 installed and all the latest windows updates installed.

Please help me out with this.

It's some adware thingy. You also get it if you install AIM. You should remove it since it doesn't help the pc.

It is a spyware type thingy like they said. It was made so they could sell you wild tangent games. They suck. If you run Spybot Search and Destroy it should get rid of it.

Thats why my "download connection icon" always shows something getting downloaded and I used to wonder what the hell is getting downloaded.

So how do I get rid of it. There is something like an uninstall for that.... PLEASE HELP!!!

Wild Tangent isn't bad. It actually came with Soldier Of Fortune 1 for netplay. Maybe things changed since then thought.
