Default hopeless beggar that I am... My lack of funds has renered me control-less

Soon as my account comes through, I'm gonna donate to chanka. They've done too much good work not to be paid. However, I still owe BitConjuror.org a donation.

By the by, I have a favour and a question to ask.

Question is this: In my version of Jet Set Radio (the whole reason I went and got Chanka, and also why I owe them so much...) I can't do any of the graf pieces that involve straight lines. My opinion is that this is because I am using a keyboard, which does not adequately simulate the Dreamcast controller's movement input capabilities. Am I right, or has my rampaging theorizing caused me to overlook the obvious once again?

And favour is this: Could somebody hook me up with a save at the very first save point of the game? It's so I can avoid the whole 'my thing doesn't do straight lines' bit.

I will attempt to return the favour as best I can with my limited resources as far as Isos, roms etc, just don't ask for money, as I can't do that, hopeless beggar and so forth.

    throwing me a lifeline,
finds its way into my room,
    All I need is you.

    Elbow, Ribcage.

I've heard of people having that issue with Jet Grind, may be some small input or core error (using a keyboard no doubt doesn't help matters though). Hopefully it will be fixed soon. As for save states, some people posting some links for them on Emutalk, if I dig them up I'll post them.

Anyways, the new version I've heard from that source should be out within a couple of days. I'll see if I dig up more news later.

What are the chances of this baby being ported to Windows 98 in the future?

I recollect one of the authors mentioning that may happen in the future, no time period on it though.

The new version is pretty good. I will test some games with higher resolutions and see if I can get Sonic 2 to work.

I just got the new version, and I was totally crushed.

Please don't tell me they are going to use that god-awful plugin standard like on N64 and PSX emulators.

I think Sonic Adventure 2 still has the Geforce issues. May be worth pissing about with 3D Analyze though.

i really need help with this. after i select play, the dremcast animated logo will come up and after setting the time and date, i can choose to play the game. i go to do that, but all it says is something about how i have to insert a game disk. my drive selected is my disk drive, and i have a dreamcast game in the drive, yet the game still won't start. if the game is required to be on the pc and u must load it with daemon tools, then how can i rip the game? please help.

I saw the FAQ of chanka and it says that you must load the game with deamon tools..

I never ripped a DC game but you can rip it with blindread/write and with some other programs out there ( alchohol 120% ) ...I hope that this is the answer you where looking for

Using real Dreamcast games won't work. No drive avalible to consumers can read Sega's GD-ROM format.

You'll have to mount images with virtual drives, or used burned CDs.

To rip DC games, you need a "Coder's Cable" or a very rare (and expensive) DC Broadband Adapter. You'll also need software like Terra Term to enable your PC to recieve GD-ROM data. There should be several guides floating around. Search for them.

Also, my Chankast keeps crashing whenever I try to use the alternate input plugin. Has anyone else had this problem?

Do these people sleep? Or eat? Or do anything other than code, troubleshoot, then code again? This is the fastest-developing emulator that I've ever had the privilege to watch grow. It's phenomenal. No messin, as soon as I get my new bank account finalised, those guys are getting a fair chunk of my savings.

I mean, to have accomplished that much in three months, it's just staggering. I jump and dribble for joy, I really do. Those people have my infinite and eternal respect, and a couch to sleep on, if they ever like, get lost in Terra Nullius and just happen upon my doorstep with a sign saying 'Chankast Programmers Need Place To Stay, And Food And Stuff.'

I do not say this lightly, but: 'word.' Word to the Chanka crew, and props to garoffi and his programmer posse.
