    Default Exchange Gil for Games!

Well, I figured I could add some incentive to this Gil system at Emupardise. Right now, having gil doesn't offer much benefit. So alas, here comes another way to spend it.
The basic idea here is to exchange gil for a game download that I'll provide. The game can be from any system or region. Exceptions include current generation systems as well as computer platforms. (PS2, GCN, XBOX, GBA, PC, MAC) Use real money to get those games and keep the gaming companies alive I will upload soundtracks for current generation games though. So, you can go nuts in that area
I have no use for the gil myself, but I plan on giving gil to those who contribute games to EP's Torrent Tracker. I need to have a good amount so once I start, I won't have to stop. The amount needed will probably change, depending on how popular this "brilliant" idea gets For now it'll be as follows:

    Current Promotions:
Get 10 free lottery tickets with any purchase (including lottery tickets )

50 gil = Any game under 50 MBs
200 gil = Any game under 100 MBs
400 gil = Any game under 300 MBs
600 gil = Any game under 700 MBs
1000 gil = Any game under 1100 MBs
1500 gil = Any game under 1500 MBs
2000 gil = Any game under 2000 MBs
3500 gil = Four games under 2500 MBs
5000 gil = Six games no size restrictions

    100 gil = 1 CD video game/anime soundtrack
    200 gil = 2 CD video game/anime soundtrack
    250 gil = 3 CD video game/anime soundtrack
    300 gil = 4 CD video game/anime soundtrack
600 gil = 2 video game/anime soundtracks no CD restrictions
1000 gil = 4 video game/anime sound tracks no CD restrictions

visit: Tokyo Pop Game Music To browse for soundtracks. There are quite a few out there so you may find something of interest if you look

    5 gil = 1 lottery ticket
    10 gil = 5 lottery tickets
    50 gil = 20 lottery tickets
Lottery drawings will take place at least once a month, but most likely once a week. Lottery winners can choose one game or soundtrack of their choice, of any size.

Next lottery drawing = Undetermined due to lack of interest and no sales of lottery tickets.

I prefer sharing through bittorrent since everyone gets the game and it is easy on my internet connection. FTP is now accepted for transfering, though not preferred . I also MAY consider sharing through an IM program. It really depends on how popular this becomes and if any punks try to screw me through FTP or IM.

If you are broke yet still want to have your game, ask someone else to donate for you, or go here: Bounty List to get the game you want for free, well almost free

Suggestions for improvement or alternatives are encouraged!

    UPDATES:
    Added soundtracks
    Added lottery
    FTP transfers are now allowed!
    Anime Soundtracks now accepted!
    New promotion System

I guess I should put these urls in for those who are unaware of the gil system

Sounds like a nice enough idea. Good to see other people do stuff like this...

But I don't think I'll use it, no. I have an easy enough time finding games anyway, and I don't want to part with my shinies.

Yeah, I figured this would be helpful for rare games, japanese games, and for people who don't like bittorrent.

I've added soundtracks to the list. If anyone thinks the prices are too high, let me know and suggest better ones Like I said, the prices are not set as I don't know how popular, if at all, this'll be.

It's just like the games, give gil and choose any soundtrack. I have quite a few so I should have all the popular ones. For whatever ones I don't, I should be able to get them somehow Since I don't expect many people to participate in this thread I doubt I'll have to worry about not having a soundtrack or game anytime soon

Well I like the idea and I have an idea to prevent abuse on an FTP transaction.

Give out the unique username and password for the FTP (you make a new combination for every transaction), for multiple transactions at once you can have several FTP servers all with unique user/password.

Also you need to set it so that each FTP server only allows 1 connection at once (that way they cant abuse it by giving an FTP link to a friend).

I think it may even be possible to only accept a connection from a specified IP address (so you just ask the person what thiers is and thats what you allow)

Now we know how viral bunny signatures really spread.

I already have those soundtracks James, but you can still submit them on EP's torrent tracker for others to get, if you like

Norgus, that's a good idea for the FTP. I did all three of those once, but someone still hacked their way in somehow. What FTP client do you suggest?

I am thinking about putting in a "lottery" option. Where you buy a ticket and if yours is picked (through random number generation via a computer program) you get the game. The prices of the tickets would be cheap, of course, how cheap.....I don't know yet
So everyone let me know how they feel about that as well.

EDIT: Decided on the lottery afterall, comments still appreciated

I like the Lottery idea, that sounds like fun, i would recomend that the tickets cost 10 gil or less.

That is also a great idea. It would just be hard to show ppl how you randomly generated the number. There is 1 soundtrack that I have yet to find a complete version of. That is the Gran Turismo 3 soundtrack. It has a list of all the songs though.

The lottery is now active. The drawing will take place in three days (Friday, July 9, 2004 at 12:00 GMT -6 hours.)
I could record the program doing its job but I don't think that that is needed. I mean, people should be able to trust me by now Considering everything I've contributed and such. If not, I'll think of a good way to prove the results are not biased and are indeed fair.
I think I have the GT3 soundtrack, knowitman. I'll go check
