The FBI recently finished a sting operation that spans several countries. I forget how many people have been arrested so far, but it was mainly PC related release groups. As for emulation related sites, I doubt they'll care much unless the community shoots itself in the foot and shares too many current generation titles. If say, microsoft or sony were to feel threatened you can bet they would contribute a couple million dollars to thwart the piracy. I doubt it'll come to that though, at least any time soon.

Thanks. I would think that the FBI would have better things to do, but oh well..

Its strange that "The DOJ described warez groups as 'hierarchical, highly structured organizations'" kind of sounds like a Terrorist Cell...

The ESA regularly tries to shut Emuparadise down, we aren't anymore exempt from it than anyone else. However, generally the ESA is far too lazy to actually go through the site and list off everything we have. So we comply we whatever simple demands they've made (usually to remove a couple roms) and we continue on. We've also been rather lucky in that usually the EP webhost favors EP rather than the ESA.

Also GundamGuy is right in that we're small potatoes compared to other websites. Pretty much all of our roms are one or more generations behind what's currently sold in stores. The ESA is likely far more concerned with shutting down sites that trade in PC titles, and GC and PS2 ISOs.

They basically have a problem with what we share on our BT Tracker. Most of the times the things they complain about aren't even put up by us. As far as the website goes, they keep making demands to remove this and that, sometime's it's Pacman, sometimes it's Final Fantasy, but nothing big ever.
I don't think they really look into emuparadise through all those login screens and those disclaimers, otherwise they would've something to say about it. Plus, the stuff on EP is pretty much obsolete, except for the GBA roms, but we'll remove those if they complain too much .
