Not usually, unless I have a translated version of the lyrics, the message is pretty important I think.

I've been reading lots about him, supposed to be great chill-music. Name an album, and I'll give it a listen.

I would recommend "()" to begin with, but I prefer "Agaetis Byrjun". Would you believe I found both of these at my local Sanity? If you live in a country without the chain, then probably, yes.

Other post rock bands to check out beside Sigur Ros

    Godspeed You! Black Emperor
    City Of Caterpillar
    Explosions In The Sky...

    the lyrics are too important
to listen to something that you dont understand is pointless

Not in particular. Sometimes just a soothing melody can be all that you need.

I listen to Dj Krush (Japan), Rammstein (german) and Sigur Ros (Iceland). I dont believe language matters as long as the music is good.

That couldn't be more true. I also believe lyrics can have a different yet profoud effect as well. I guess it's all in how you interpret it.

Edit: I guess to make this on topic, lyrics I don't understand work just as well as a soothing melody, given they aren't disruptive, but I don't listen to any in particular.
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain
I like watchin the puddles gather rain
And all I can do is just pour some tea for two
and speak my point of view
    But its not sane..
I just want some one to say to me
Ill always be there when you wake
Ya know Id like to keep my cheeks dry today
So stay with me and Ill have it made
And I dont understand why I sleep all day
And I start to complain that theres no rain
And all I can do is read a book to stay awake
And it rips my life away but its a great escape..
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain...
