take a look at that site and tell me what you think. i want to know if you believe this to be true, your reasoning behind your thinking, and what you plan to do whether you believe it to be true or not.

EDIT: added some sites with articles relating to the issue.

This isnt a very big deal even if it is true. There are many many other jobs that workers die more frequently such as those who work on oil rigs police departments etc. Also there have been workers that have gotten lung cancer from producing microwave popcorn.

Could be true, but then again it might not be true.

I didn't read the article exactly.. (I have a bad habit of skim reading/"glancing") But you could start comparing that to other things..

Like kids in the far east that are paid silly amounts of money to make footballs for us... Things like that..

But if that indeed says that people are dying because of making coke or something.. Well..

In the 1800's, people were slaved to pick cocoa for chocolate.. I doubt that would be going on now because of media attention and things.. And even if it did, I think it would be in the company's best ethical interest to change supplier, and fast .

EDIT: My 300th post! Or more like, my 2100th post > : D

haha. yeah you have a point. i couldn't see people just grabbing an idea out of the air and saying that they're gonna protest against it. but i still think it is a scam site.

Why have a bottling plant in Colombia? Surely that'd only be useful if you needed old style coke...
Skinner's thread about coke being in coke a few years ago and MasJ swearing blind that it wasn't was pretty cool.

i found it funny when i first heard about coke being in coke. then i was worried that they were still making it that way. then i read further into the article and found it funny again. they actually used to call it dope cola and coca nola and, as they still do, coke!

    Default Dudes, I've seen this

Guys, this has been their forever. FOX news put it in on a report about "phony-websites that take your money". The guy who runs it lives in columbia and is an ex-coca cola employee, who was fired for disorderly conduct.

It's a piece of bullshit guys.

the main points in the article aren't that they are dying because of working there, they are dying because the union supporters and union leaders are being assassinated by paramilitary. those are the people that are trained in the US at the School of the Americas (has a different name now). They're trained to use torture methods to stop things either the company or the government doesn't like.

the problem with that is FOX is one of the biggest biased, corporate owned media on the air waves. i'm not saying your wrong, you could very well be right and the story one FOX was right, but when you have a media that has the top businesses tellling them what to put in the evening news, there is still the possibility that it's not true.

in any case, i am a little skeptical about the site. i'm still not sure though.
