Just an example of contradiction off the top of my head: read the commandment "Thou shall not kill", then read David and Goliath.

Here's a list of Biblical contradictions. Some can be explained away by translation errors or just typos (Solomon's 40000/4000 chariot stalls, for instance), while others seem a bit more odd (Jesus as God's equal or inferior, God as war or peace, good to all or just those who don't disagree, the folly of wisdom, the Sermon on the Mount/Plain).

I was raised as a Christ, but I don't care about that much ....not at all now that I think off....
I'm just a lurker these days, I feel like an 80 year old gramps, watching his grand children play outside *sigh*

Those aren't the only ones we've found.

I'm a Christian. I don't care about whatever shit claims you guys have about religions or whatnot -- if you don't want to believe, then don't believe. I do, however, have something to say about the Bible and it's interpretations:

A lot of the stories in the Bible are merely examples. Some can be interpreted in many ways, where others have a moral at the end of the story. You don't have to believe every word of the Bible to be a follower of God.

Now, as to the David/Goliath thing... David slew Goliath in the defense of others. Since Goliath was taking the lives of others, it was acceptable for David to slay Goliath for the lesser of two evils to occur: while David now has blood on his hands, more people are living because of his actions.

There's also the fact that, since Goliath is described as a giant (not a tall man, but a giant) than it could be the retaliation of David against an Abomination, which is an entirely different thing.

Anyways. Those are just my ideas. I don't care about rebuttal -- I won't be checking back in on this thread.

Well that means that you shouldn't kill, but you can't just stand there and get slaughtered. Goliath had to be killed because some people won't change and continue to harm others

Thanks for respecting and what is with the 163.89%. I didn't think it was possible to be sure more than 100%. Anyway the contradictions that i saw on the list, mostly look like b.s. stuff that doesn't matter anyway but i will look into some of the others
