Seriously though, what part of Jesus died on the Cross? Just the body?
Jesus' body died but his soul did not.
Isn't that odd? God sent Jesus to save our souls with Jesus' body. Jesus didn't sacrifice his soul to save men's souls...he sacrificed his physical body to save men's souls. That violates the definition of the words "corresponding ransom" that the Bible uses to describe this event.
How can the Bible say Jesus sacrificed his life if the only thing he sacrificed was some worthless old shell of a body, and the real Jesus, his soul, continued to live on? That can hardly count as a corresponding sacrifice, can it?
The book of Romans says that we "deserve" to die for our sins, but why would a "just" God punish billions of people for Adam's error? Why would a "just" God give women extra punishment in the form of birth pain? If Adam and Eve didn't know evil from good to begin with, why blame them for being fooled? The book of Romans goes on further to say "Learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice," so why couldn't God just forgive us instead of insisting on Jesus being murdered to cancel out sin?
