Ah a whole 'nother page of Nrage lol.. That explains it.. Oh yea.. I'm having trouble with two games.. Vigilante 8 and Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense.. You by chance haven't gotten them to work, have you? 1964, PJ64, Rice's video, etc.. not workin'.
Not worth bothering with at the moment. I had some limited success with one of Rices plugins, but it was glitchy, and only slightly playable.
No other plugins support the game fully yet, only a matter of time though.
Why is it that Vigilante 8 series doesn't work properly? I just can't figure it out. LoL I just wanted to go screw around.. And I guess it didn't work out. Also.. I'm having trouble AGAIN.. Believe it or not.. With Mario Tennis.. I tried Rice's video but that made it indefinitely worse. And Jab's isn't horrible. .Just really crappy. Playable, but sometimes the ball dissapears, or it just picture thing and stuff.![]()
Oh yea.. and not only that.. I was wondering if there was a place that can translate Jap games.. I have a few imported games and it's kinda hard to play not knowing what selections to choose and all. LoL Storyline type game.
Vigilante 8 have partially unemulated opcodes/graphics procedures (complex stuff!) One of the geniuses who dabble in N64 emulation will fix it soon I've no doubt. Why is it that Vigilante 8 series doesn't work properly? I just can't figure it out. LoL I just wanted to go screw around.
LOL, seems no one can spell poor 'Jabo's name correctlyI tried Rice's video but that made it indefinitely worse. And Jab's isn't horrible. .Just really crappy. Playable, but sometimes the ball dissapears, or it just picture thing and stuff.![]()
Anyways get Jabos D3D 1.5, and I believe force normal blender. Or Rices and hide FB effects in the frame buffer settings.
I prefer Jabo's though.
There is a way to edit the text in the games. vanit knew how, but wouldn't tell anyone.
I know how tooThere is a way to edit the text in the games. vanit knew how, but wouldn't tell anyone. It ain't no big mystery.

The basics are in the document there (how to translate).
Heck I know of someone who is/was translated Animal Forest (J) for the N64. The trouble is I (in my capacity of getting someone in on the thing) was let down not once, not twice but thrice by the same person who had offered to help... great eh.
I have never bothered to check Zophar's Domain! I am so stupid! AHHHH! Well I will check that out.
But the games I'm talking about are for the PSX lol. Sorry if I confused anyone on that.. I'm not quite sure what too look for. And yea I could spell "Jabo's" name correctly, but Jab's make him sound cooler.. I dunno why.. just one of my excessive odd parts of life I suppose. heh
A while back I edited Knockout Kings on the PS1 simply by opening it in.. I think CDmage and extracting a text file that had some character profile on it. Changed the text and reinserted it, it worked perfectly. I daresay it isn't always as easy as that though, lol
Sure someone will give you help on it soon.
And as for the plugin.. that wasn't a success either lol.. Unless I have the wrong one.. maybe I'm lost.. as usual.. - How is it possible to have some file translate a whole game it may have never seen before? Just doesn't seem able.. But it's just me lol
D3D 1.5.1 is the best one I used for Mario Tennis, but Force normal needs ticking otherwise it runs like crap. And as for the plugin.. that wasn't a success either lol.. Unless I have the wrong one..
I've a feeling this game will be the next one to fall to almost perfect emulation
Think of the file as a table that simply has something like:How is it possible to have some file translate a whole game it may have never seen before? Just doesn't seem able.. But it's just me lol
AT address X881112 replace 'aaaaa' with 'bbbbb'
Course it isn't quite like that, but that is the gist. You then import the file which will overwrite all the neccessary data.

Hey.. How's it hangin'? Did you by chance find that file? (the one that translates the textof a PSX mdf or cdrom file?) I really need it please in order to get through my game.. I got to this point where their's a quiz.. and you HAVE to pass it.. and that didn't go over so well lol..
I also need a file like that for SNES.. I have quite a few untranslated files that need to be translated.
I'm sure I'm being a bugger with all the problems I'm having, but I'm having trouble with more games for the N64.. AGAIN..it's really insane lol
Paper Mario: I get to certain points and the screen gets really flickery/flashy and makes it hard to see what's going on.
Donkey Kong 64: I don't know for sure or not.. but is it supposed to have the same darkness effect as Doom 64? because in spots it gets really dark.
Gauntlet Legends: Is really really laggy, making play impossible.
Well, that's it.. for now lol.. So hope you can help. Thanks.
Which PSX game do you need a translation of? There obviously isn't a generic 1 patch translates all things sadly.
For the N64, I'd use Rices plugin for all those games (get the latest).
