One-Winged Angel vs. Liberi Fatali

Bleh. I'm stealing this from another forum to spice the GG forum up a bit, seeing how there's been a lack of interesting threads lately. Here we go.

Which do you like better?

One-Winged Angel :: The FFVII final boss battle theme.
Liberi Fatali :: The powerful FFVIII opening music.

I'm sure most of you have heard both a million times. And I'm sure that it is hard to compare a battle theme with an intro theme.

Both different and superb in their own way. But when it comes down to, which do you prefer? I prefer Liberi Fatali. Even though OWA has a very special place in my heart (for being one of the tracks that got me into VGM). I'd rather listen to Liberi Fatali. The way it's brimming with power and energy, building up to the climax is just wicked.

Liberi Fatalli, no doubt about it... I didn't even NOTICE the final boss theme from FFVII!!

I'm not kidding! The battle was just sooo boring I didn't even bother finishing it... Did I miss something here...? Is there supposed to be another stage in the battle after you beat the Sephiroth thingy...?

Anyway... For a time, I thought One-Winged Angel was related to Xenogears... I'd take Yasunori Mitsuda over Nobuo Uematsu any day! In fact, I'm gonna make a poll about this...

I recent that, I think the OST for FFVIII is quite good

but as for favourite between Liberi Fatali and One Winged Angel...

Liberi Fatali is awesome, but One Winged Angel.....I jsut kinda like that one better
also, One Winged Angel in Kingdom Hearts....while fighting Sephiroth there

It's really hard to decide. On one hand, you have Libei Fatali coupled with the opening CG of FFVIII which, when viewed, gives me an erection of titanic proportions. Then there's One Winged Angel, with its "dundundununununundnun SEPHIROTH!!!...SEPHIROTH!! donunununnunndundnun SEPHIROTH!!...SEPHIROTH!!". AKA it's damn good. In the end my vote goes to...

[Sephiroth]

the orchestrated version of One Winged Angel is simply the best, though Liberi Fatali takes a VERY close secound. I'll go deaf before I get tired listening to either one

I love VGM! Out of those 2 tracks I'd have to go with Liberi Fatali. But my favourite track at the moment is Final Mix from Kingdom Hearts. These are the soundtracks I have and there are a few movie and anime soundtracks in there too.

One Winged Angel without shadow of a doubt... Liberi Fatali is really, really awesome couple with FFVIII's opening movie but without it I don't like it anywhere near as much One Winged Angel is awesome either way.

Did I miss anything...? Because I don't remember there being any lyrics in the final battle... I beat Jenova, then went on to fighting Sephiroth with the multiple-party thing, got bored and turned it off...

no, there wasent any lyrics in the midi version (or the psx version) of the song, in most MP3 and the orchestrated version, (can b found anywhere via google) the lyrics are as Zuljin posted. (the orchestrated version may be shorter than some other mp3 remixes,) the soundtrack cd contains a lyrical version of the song, its really powerfull.

ohh btw, after you fight sephiroth the "first time" (where hes an angel with two wings and that funny lookin head above the large head) you fight him again, where you get to hear one of the greatest songs in gammin histroy (did I overblow it?) (then you fight him AGAIN, wont spoil it for u)

Oh, OK... I remember I accidentally skipped the instructions on how to beat Sephiroth the first time around, then I went on to a 1 hour battle, where I'd pummel him with Summon Materia and Double-Cut and all that...

I got so bored, I didn't even TRY beating him the second time around... Been a while, so yeah, I thought I missed something...

I withdraw my earlier response, then... I haven't listened to One-Winged Angel, so I can't decide...
