I realized that before I made my first post to it. I just kept quiet to see if anyone else would be fooled by the article.

    i wasnt putting sega down...
i was just saying they abandoned the dreamcast when it's popularity was picking up

that was a stupid thing to do
i know a few people who were gonna but one (including me) until they announced they were gonna stop making them

i just think what they did was ridiculous what they did. it was thier best console and it wasnt a faliure like thier others

Well, actually, the DC was going downhill. They abandoned it to pursue software. Good move I think.

Scratches disks? I heard about the PS2 scratching blue-bottomed discs but nothing about the xbox.

Sorry bud, but these two lines alone show that you have NO idea what you are talking about. While the Dreamcast was a great system, it was nowhere near being succesful. Its popularity gained momentum only after Segas announcement that it would be exiting the system bizz and would become a developer. People are picking them up at a record rate now, simply because systems and software are so cheap. Unfortunatly, noone was doing this when it mattered. Systems generally have a 5 year shelf life, and this one didnt last 3. So regardless of how good a system it was, it cant be called a success because of lack of consumer support. Anyways. I'll probably edit this when I can gather my thoughts a bit better. But for now this will do.

    wtf?

i know what i'm talking about
i knew just as many people who had dreamcasts as had playstations. everyone i knew liked and enjoyed dreamcasts. it was by far their most popular console (in this country at least) i was gonna buy one, and then they announced they were gonna stop making it. it has loads of games and everyone liked it, because it was the most powerful console out for more at that time, and everyone traded in their playstations to get one,

i still might get a dreamcast

it has loads of good games and a hell of a lot cheaper then the other consoles (my favourite is shenmue 2)

everyone had a dreamcst BEFORE they announced they were going into sofware

I think that the PS2 is the greatest console of all time(with the N64 a close second).

Thanks for supporting my earlier statements Cyber. Dave, maybe in your little corner of the universe, the DC was immensely popular, but not here. It was always there (on the market), but didn't sell very well. Let's face it; the DC was a cult classic. And now, the frenzy is over. You can't buy one. The last DC came off the assembly line last month.
