Default Final Fantasy - Reused Tracks

It may just be me obsessing over FF music again, as one does, but I think I have found a few tracks that have been reused. For those of you who have the soundtracks handy compare the tracks. I think Nobou thought he was being sneaky by reusing old melodies.

    Similar Tracks:

    1. Aria Di Mezzo Carattere (FF6) - Aeris's Theme (FF7)
    2. Waltz Calvier (FF5) - Waltz for the Moon (FF8)
    3. Mount Ordeals (FF4) - Mt. Klotz (FF5)
    4. Good Ol' Fellows (FF3 Nes) - Mog (FF6)
    5. Beneath the Horizon (FF3 Nes) - Kefka (FF6)
    6. The Lunarians (FF4) - The Lunatic Pandora (FF8)

If I find any more others I'll update it.

They're similar, true, but I wouldn't say 'reused', that's a bit too far. There ARE however a few tracks that are reused between games like the Shinra parade theme which appears in an event in Final Fantasy IX ...

Yeah, you're right. They seem as though they are 'inspired'. But having read Nobou's biography, I know that the Final Fantasy series was the first time he publically released his music. Now we are around the 11th FF game hes worked on and we don't see any more 'inspired' tracks because I think he's gotten used to the scene.

Yeah, I'd say you're definetly right in saying 'inspired'... The one that immediately sprung out at me was Lunarians / Lunatic Pandora, those are both very dischordant and have a very similar sound to them indeed...

Did you guys know that Kuja's theme (Immoral Melodies) is a rearrangement of the desert theme from FFV called 'Intention of the Earth'? Pretty cool. ^^

    EDIT: Corrected song title.

Woah! Well done. At 22secs into 'Intention of the Earth' you can hear the main melody of Kuja's Theme. Speaking of Kuja's theme I prefered it in the 'Kuja Leaving Burmecia' clip as opposed to the more orchestrated version in the game. On other things: I came accross something really strange in the FF8 soundtrack. Listen to 'The Oath'. I can't quite place it, but it seems very FF10ish. I might be out of place saying this; I think that the whole style of the FF10 music might be based on this track or atleast inspired.

EDIT: I found the track it reminded me of. Its 'Someday the Dream Will End' in FF10.

Yeah the 'Kuja Leaving Burmecia' one is a bit better, but listen to Immoral Melodies, it's Kuja's Theme, but a much better version.

Ohhh I forgot about that. Thats the music thats played when you vs him as the 2nd or 3rd last boss, right?

EDIT: OMG! I found an even earlier version of Kuja's theme! This is the first 2nd time inspired track I've found:

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Living Forest (FF3 NES) -> Intention of the Earth (FF5) -> Kuja's Theme (FF9)
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Now that is truly interesting...

Hey did any of you ever think the Shinra theme from FF7 sounded kinda like the end to Led Zeppelin's Kashmir?

The theme from the original Final Fantasy is used in FF7's Staffroll, as well as the second part of Melodies of Life.

And ever since FFVI, there's been a reuse of that opening riff somewhere in an FF battle theme (maybe not the actual battle theme, but a boss battle, or something). FFVII has it in Birth of God, FFVIII in one of the Ultimecia battle themes (don't remember which one), and of course it's blatantly obvious in FFIX's battle theme. I can't speak for FFX and FFX-2 though, but I wouldn't count on it, with a different composer and all.
