Hey, I found out what the problem was with one of the FTPs I was trying to access. So my post earlier in this thread can be ignored.

Now we know how viral bunny signatures really spread.
See what happens when someone tries to ping you. If they can successfully ping you it's the BFTP's fault and change the port settings there. Otherwise it could either be the router or the virtual server.
I've gotten my FTP to work around my router before by triggering ports 1024-***** with my FTP port. I can't seem to remember what the second number is, and I think it's killing the PASV connection to my server.
Any help?
how do i put files into my FTP server
Thanx a lot to DSerge for this sig.
You want other people to be able to, or you yourself.
To let other people make an acccount with upload capabilities.
Otherwise just stick the stuff yourself in the root ftp directory (check the options of your ftpD).
is anyone willing to test my ftp to see if it works ?

Connecting to (24.125.55.11) -> IP: 24.125.55.11 PORT: 21
Een verbindingspoging is mislukt omdat de verbonden party niet correct heeft geantwoord na een bepaalde tijd, of de gemaakte verbinding is mislukt omdat de verbonden host niet heeft geantwoord.

Help me out here Riff Raff. I am setting up a server on this machine. I have configured everything with Guild FTP. I am working through a router here, and that is the source of my troubles. I can connect to the server with an FTP client but the people I have asked to attempt to connect to it are unable to. I am using a D-Link router, I have Virtual Server FTP turned on (which works the same way as port forwarding), and I even tried leaving this system in the DMZ of the router. Suggestions?

Which format is your IP in *.*.*.* or *.*.*.*:**** ? And which format are the test clients using to connect? If you PM me the username/password I'll have a go at trying to connect. Also when you tested with your own ftp client where you using 127.0.0.1 or another computer?
Ok, My IP is in *.*.*.* format.
GuildFTP lists your own IP, and it says that mine is 192.167.0.2
whatsmyipadress (something like that) says its 141.*.*.*
If I try and connect to the 192 in my network, it works fine.
If I try and connect to the 141 in my network, it looks okay, but I see no files or folders.
From reports: If anyone else tries to connect to the 192, it doesn't work.
If anyone else tries to connect to the 141, they get the same problem.
Can I have a little help on this?
=EDIT= I tested on two different computers, but both were on the same network.
=DOUBLE EDIT= I think the problem is that my computer has one IP, but GuildFTP thinks that the IP is another, so it hosts on that IP, but only I can access it.

Oh yeah, magus fixed his problem.
192.* is an internal network ip. It'll only work for other computers on the network.
The one you want is the whatismyip.com address. Go and configure GuildFTPd to use it. You'll have to ask Magus for the specifics on what he had to do.
