    Queensryche - The Needle Lies

From the 'Operation: Mindcrime' concept album. These guys sound a lot like Iron Maiden, with the punkish agression of the Paul Di'Anno material, and the progressive rock stylings of the Bruce Dickinson era. In short, another essential album I need to pick up next time I'm in town...

EDIT: On the subject, does anyone else have any recommendations for other Queensryche songs/albums?

Apocalyptcia - Nothing Else Matters (Metallica cover)

I think that this sounds bloody great with the cellos and all, been listening to this one quite alot, when I'm not listening to Pain of Salvation (I'm hooked).

O:MC is their classic album and my favourite. My next favourite is Promised Land, but most go for Rage For Order or Empire. The debut self titled EP also has some good material, however the last three (Hear In The Now Frontier, Q2K, Tribe) have been utter shit.

    Muse - Blackout

Amazing track from Absolution, one of the standouts. It's very icelandic post rock sigur ros mum-ish. Probably my second favourite after Butterflies And Hurricanes, which I have just moved on to...

Saves The Day ~ Sell My Old Clothes, I'm Off To Heaven

The lyrics of this song pretty much describe how I feel right now, almost exactly. Except for the part about stabbing myself in the eye, that's a bit extreme.

    Metallica - Dyers Eve

One of my favourite Metallica songs. Great lyrics, and great drumming (even though Lars couldn't keep up on the recording and had to record each part seperately...).

Oh, and thanks for the Queensryche reccomendations, Johnny, I'll look into those...

They say they don't play it live because of the lrics, but it's actually because they can't play it.

AFI - Paper Arplanes (Makeshift Wings)

From this year's Sing The Sorrow, which I've been saying since I got it, is better than any of their other material. Vocal harmonies are great on this and throughout the album...

    Rufio ~ Road To Recovery

Oh man, this song is my situation exactly. Here are the lyrics:

He never thought someone would come along,
and show him the feelings he's always dreamed of.
She didn't plan on falling in love,
upset the balance she's wanted so long.

    This road to recovery,
    has taken all i have.
It seems hard as i try,
    to succumb once again, again.

Well he lost control and gave up his heart,
to follow the girl that he's always dreamed of.
She pulled away so scared of a love,
that might have been more than she had planned on.

    This road to recovery,
    has taken all i have.
It seems hard as i try,
    to succumb once again, again.

    Well love's a *****,
    relationships end.
What happens now when that person's gone?
The one who you thought you could always count on.
You fall in love and they fall out.
Love is a *****, all relationships end.

How do i let go of a love that meant so much to me?
How do i go on when you're part of me?
I'm dying inside each time i see you.
Don't lose sight of me cuz you're all I see.
    You're still all I see.
This road to recovery has taken all I have.
This road to recovery has taken all I have, taken all I have.

The Weakerthans - This Is A Fire Door Never Leave Open

The weakerthans is a very intersting band. their lyrics are great. they are not like the other music I listen to. Its more soft rock and sometimes some harder rock. the vocal played bass in Propagandhi back in the days..we like him
