using specific ps1/ps2 controllers on pc with a usb controller adapter question

wasn't sure which section to post this in so move as necessary.
I have a dual ps1/ps2 usb adapter and I'm wondering if I can use controllers like the ultra racing controller or fishing controllers?
the back of the package is rather vague it says all controllers but then notes that DDR mats are compatible.

Did you get a chance to test other controllers?
