Not sure what his current HW is. There's always Linux too.

A 4770k and a GT720 (which showed up as something else in GPUZ if I remember right). With a more powerful video card there might be a handful of examples but .

I would need more than a new gpu I also need a SSD on top of win 10 to play anything released this year(and a few older titles)

watched alien it was a solid movie. one thing I noticed is it looks like they used some old star wars ship set pieces (mostly the upper corridors)
a warning for anyone that wants to watch it that has epilepsy there's a lot of flashing and strobe lights (particularly towards the end) it was even starting to hurt my eyes.

The CPU is getting long in the tooth for big titles from the last couple years. SSDs saw large price drops earlier this year.

The closing for Dirty Pair Flash starts with a bunch of strobing .

maybe for "AAA" games but I haven't seen too many that have I9 requirements most have been I5 and I7
I did look into hdd recently but I may have been looking at standard sata drives not ssd drives. from what I remember WD blue drives were running $35 for 500gb

For SATA SSDs I think it's down to Crucial and Samsung if you want DRAM (consistent performance).

For simplicity's sake I'd get a drive of the same or larger capacity so that you can image your current drive and copy it to the new one without having to fiddle with partition sizes.

Yes. It's the unlocked 4c/8t for Haswell. Not that I'd bother with OC'ing it, especially since it's been a bit touchy with stability.

He was using some low power SoC before this. It's a huge upgrade but it's still old .

Still a nice leap. Get a better gpu and it'll really open up gaming possibilities. Should handle most emulation needs too, outta the loop for more current stuff like ps3 etc. But Cube, ps2 and wiiu/switch should mostly be fine.
